I think you should pay more attention to the quality of shots and background. But beside this little :thing: - beautiful sculpture.

I'm not a photographer by any means, and that does show...but I pretty much concentrate on the sculpture itself, and this is what I do, Thanks for checking my site out....

I know that you are not I'm not either.
But you really should try to take some good pictures of your works - wizard for example is hardy visible :/ - use some focus, a lamp and a dark background - it will definitely help you to "present" them better.
Just a suggestion.
And it was my pleasure - beautiful work.

Thank you so much.. I shall try to think about these things whenever I get the 4 pieces I'm working on now completed. I would reshoot these existing pieces , but they are gone to their owners now.
Thank you very much for your help, I truly appreciate it...jack

Amazing work and detail. He is a force to be reckoned with - grand in stature and oh so powerful with his green fluorite ball. No negativity around him.

Nice stylization !.. and i'm flippin' out because if i read the above comments right ... you put a wire in each and every hair strand? ... ( and you can buy wire in rolls at any hardware store ..
... your dedication at reusing household items like plastic-coated twisty wires may win you the Green Award of the Year !
)
He looks potent !...in the final battle i want him on my side !

Thanks, It was one of my first pieces. I had no idea and no tools, but managed to knock out this dude. I still use BMX and ATV sprockets for bases. (great steel there) But I now have all the spools of wire and different size tubes of stainless steel to "blacksmith" my armatures. The color proocess to forever for me to figure out, but I don't use pasta machines and I often "bridge" several colors and shades together without a noticible color line. I have many more pieces that I dont have photos of and are working to get them, and I slao have another white wizard from last year that is called "Mid-Morph". The person wanted a wizard and a snake, so I made the Wiz half snake and half wizard. His beard and hair fly around pretty good. Still waiting to get with the owner and snap a few shots off. Maybe soon, I hope. Thanks for all your compliments, makes me feel the "knead" (sorry) Rock onward, bud jack

" knead " ...hyuck hyuck heeyuk .... ...
haha ..i used to work in the crane indusrty and had all kinds of steel cam shafts and races i used for weights, etc. in different projects.
Steel bases ! ...that's really different than my experiences... ..so you actually bake the steel after coating it with clay?...Dont you find that the steel heating up drasctically changes the bake time and or even burns the clay ?... In fact ...dosent the seperate cooling times between the steel and the clay crack the clay afterwards?.. I think i have that problem sometimes and i use solid commercial paper mache ( hard as a rock ) for an underbase sometimes.
If youre uncomfortable sharing your procedures...i understand and no problem ...i always figure out my own solutions sooner or later.

I truly do not have any competition involving my art. I'll try to answer any questions you may have, that you can depend on.
As far as steel bases are concerned, I havent had any problem at all with the clay fracturing. I do watch them closely when I fire them, but I do things in such an elaborate order now, that I pretty much know what to expect. I have been "through the mill" with stress fractures and have learned many ways to avoid them.......
Armatures are everything and when you have solid steel armatures that are basically steel sculptures, the clay comes natually and does not support any weight. Also , if you are attempting to do fulll color sculpture, it's a good idea to mix in some Sculpey translucent with the colors. This product helps with structural integrity, and doesnt f#$k up the colors too much. Talk to you later, Thanks for the encouragement j

Everything I create is sculpted in stainless steel first, drilled, bolted epoxyed, after I am happy with it I then use the clay..............no wood, and no paint, thanks for asking, I am here to help, if I can....j
