Position # 21 #MonsterMayChallenge drawing of “Efrit” or Ifrit is a mythological being of the Arab culture, mostly known as “Geniuses” of great unpredictable Magical power.
In some descriptions the "Efrit" can take many appearances but they often choose the form of a handsome, massive man or a beautiful and powerful woman (genius women are called "efreeta") another notable feature is their red or black skin engulfed in flames that feed them.
According to their origin they were the first created of fire but their pride of not bowing down to man made of simple clay annoying the great powers. The insult ended in an eternal confinement absorbed by lamps and rings that only human bearers would have the authority to free them from their slavery.
Even under the control of a human master, some "Efrit" could manifest in an evil or benign way, but they would follow the orders of their little master.
