Reconstruction (Season 6), Episode 11So ~Aniphine asked me on Tumblr what my favorite quote from RvB was. Although I have many to choose from , this was the one I finally picked. For obvious reasons.
A very silly interpretation, I think, but that last scene is damn accurate.

I'm a lot more proud of this than I should be for how silly/stupid it is. When Reconstruction came out ≈4 years ago (cries), I never thought I would get to a point artistically where I could draw this scene, primarily because of that turret. But now look.
So if you ever think you wont be able to do something, you're wrong.

Ach, lass, no worries (that was my Scottish coming out - I'm not Scottish, but every now and again you've got to let a fake part of your ancestry see the light of day). When and/or if you ever decide you're interested in pursuing your own ideas, I have no doubt that you'll do just that. And frankly, I find some of the best artists by searching for fanart, so I have absolutely no complaints. I like art with stories behind them, which is a big part of why I enjoy fanwork so much - because the story is really obvious.

Definitely. I love the communal aspect of fanart. There are things you can take as red because every fan of the series has a common knowledge that we share. And you can make jokes that -to anyone else- wouldn't make any sense, but to fellow fans, they're hilarious. That exclusivity/common ground is something that never fails to amaze me.
