Description
I should be workin' on my novel. But I got a case of the sillies and whipped out my pens and did this instead. Hence, it's a deviation! From what I should be doing.Everyone knows 'bout the inspiration-perspiration thing. Imagination, dedication, mhm. Here's s'more. Fun fact: I really do look like an androgynous hobo with eyebrows in real life. I have many scarves. I like my warm red one and my tartan one with my clan colors and my green one that the Boss Lady knit for me 'cause she's awesome.

Tell me about it. I've been meaning to write since the beginning of summer break (started in April for us <<) and I still haven't written a damn thing. *headdesk*

The second to last square cracked me up, because I've been there.
Pretty accurate, if I do say so myself.

Indeed, I can't be the only who rolls around on the floor groaning, too weighted down by the pangs of artistic troubles and self-scrutiny to be productive! Haha, thanks! I had fun.

Yep. Pretty much. In fact, I think I've done the history of underwear research already.

History of underwear will always live in infamy amongst my siblings and I--of COURSE my brother sneaks up behind me as I'm absorbed in such important research! D: Almost as bad as when parents (or grandparents, for the ultimate horror) shuffle on by while you're working and the most obscene word on the page is the first (only) thing they see, by accident, like it JUMPED OFF THE PAGE AT THEM OR SOMETHING, GAAH.
(I learned, quickly, that if I was writing on vacation or out in public, to always compute with my back to a solid wall...)

I can't even remember the weirdest thing I ever researched. I do know I spent some time in a library reading up on the history of prostitution and homosexuality⦠for reasons. I also worked in that library, which made it interesting to check those books out from my coworkers. And most of them didn't know I wrote fiction.
But Victorian underwear was so fun to learn about. I even commissioned a corset so I could learn first hand what my range of motion would be while wearing one (and because they're pretty). It's surprisingly not nearly as restrictive as I'd imagined. Also the boning and support are good for back pain after a long day.

Sounds about right. XD I don't think there will ever be a time when friends/family will ever stop being confused about my search history. Or when my brother-creature won't call me nuts for watching videos of Subdural hematoma surgeries...
Victorian underwear is the best! One of my pals does Civil War reenactments, and she is very adamant on correcting folks on how ridiculous the concept of a "bodice ripper" novel actually is. She does say the freedom of movement is actually pretty good, though.
