Description
Oswald followed Mickey down Mean Street. 'What did he do now?' The rabbit wondered. Mickey stopped. Oswald looked, and saw the firehouse. "Yeah, what about it?" Oswald asked.Mickey pointed the brush at the building. "You might want to stand back."
"Why? What are you-" Mickey sprayed the building with thinner, the reddish paint melted off the firehouse, leaving it dark and dead. Oswald grabbed Mickey and pulled him in. "Now why did you go and do that?!" He yelled.
"Calm down!" Mickey whimpered, "I had to thin it to show you this!" Oswald loosened his grip and Mickey walked to the dead firehouse. He jumped up onto a ledge sticking out above the garage door. Oswald used his ears to fly to the ledge.
He noticed a door. How did that get there? Mickey opened the door. Inside was a small apartment. Despite the building being thinned, the interior remained intact.
"Do you know what this is?" Mickey asked. Oswald glanced around the room. He didn't recall adding this. He saw pictures of a man and three girls, one older than the other two. Right next to the door was a widow, with a lamp next to it. The lamp was on. Finally, the rabbit looked at the mouse standing in the doorway, the tears started seeping in as he realized what this place was.
"This was his apartment." Mickey said. "When he came to the park, he'd turn that lamp on to let people know he was there. And when he died, we decided to leave it on. I spent a week in the real apartment when it happened. I just wanted to show you this, since I don't know if we're going to come back from this."
Oswald continued to look at the mouse. He had never saw this side of him before. Oswald finally walked back to the door, and took one more look at the room. Mickey put his gloved hand on the rabbit's shoulder.
"Come on, we got a wasteland to save."
I was wondering, does Oswald know about Walt's Apartment in Wasteland? So, I drew Mickey showing it to Oswald somewhere in the first game (which would explain why its more complicated to get in in the second, Oswald wanted to protect it)

Guess it was something he hadn't thought about. He probably subconsciously thought about it but didn't know why.
