My friends know that my dream was already fulfilled as a He-Fan, when I got to be the voice of King Miro in Mike Young Production's "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" -cartoon from 2002-2004 (the finnish dub-version).
But while being a fan of the cartoon, I have admired the comic by MVCreations and always hoped to be able to contribute to another official MotU product, so I was really happy when Val Staples asked me to help colour assist on a comic-adaptation of Episode 40 - Captured of the MYP He-Man.
On August 5th, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Volume 3 comes to stores and as special feature is the comic included.
Be sure to go and buy the DVD from Best Buy stores, for they have a printed version of the comic packed in with the DVD.

I curious, How exactly does this collaboration work with you and Val? What's the process?

I worked on the backround colours on pre-existing flats. After I was finished, Val handled the foreground-characters and special effects.

Well, a closure would have been getting the full season 3.
This Episode4+ was basically just the first episode of season 3.

Congrats and nice work!
I especially like the spikey rocks in the first panel. Great lighting and colour choices.
Two thumbs up!

Appreciate that bro.
Was a great joy to help MVCreations.
If they get a shot at doing more comics (mini/regular), I'm definitely throwing my name in the hat for those.

AWESOME! I'm guessing this scene depicts what Kobra Kahn does after the fall of King Hiss? He goes to Skeletor seeking employment? They all look so badass in this comic (had no idea there was a comic series that picked up where the show left off!). Can you find volumes one and two at barnes N Nobles or Newbury Comics?

There isn't a comic series.
The cartoon creators managed to script Episode 40, but it was never produced, due to the show being cancelled at episode 39.
Episode 40 would have been the first episode in season three. This is the comic-adaptation of it, and it is viewable in the DVD Volume 3 only.
Don't know if the MYP DVD Volumes are to be found at those mentioned places.

Wow congrats man!
This looks reallyyyy nice!
So, do the figures stay gray, or is that just how you have your pages sorted... to show your colors?
They actually look cool all gray...

The finished pages will look extra spiffy in glorious colours.
The grayed figures is more to show my contribution since Val Staples did the figures and s/x.
