Description
the Menachite Complex from Halo Reach, is among the hardest -IMO- Forerunner constructs to imagine accurately, based on its description in the book, as this place literally makes no absolute sense. It's a giant chamber about 3 kilometers in diameter built deep inside Menachite mountain, with a dome that simulated an open sky, with a dozen moons and clouds that morphed into geometric shapes. The chamber was described to exhibit spatial distortions and optical illusions, which proved disorienting to anyone attempting to reach the central tier. Apart from the glowing crystal at its center, the exact purpose of the chamber is completely unknown.

I've always had trouble visualizing what the room looked like in the book. This is a good take on it!

Forerunners made some of the coolest things in space.

Halo was not something I thought of when I first saw the picture. As you said, the description in the book makes no sense. But this picture is really beautiful. Amazing work

Nothing like a mystery in sci-fi, great job there!

could be an olographic computer... sci-fi examples galore, the oldest I can remember is the olographic room present inside Indastria solar tower in the anime Future Boy Conan (much smaller, of course)

Nice work!
Those Forerunners sure do like to be dramatic at times.

Probably because they are so advance, things that are dramatic to us are "because why not?" moments to them.

Thank you for bringing a visual representation of this place to life. I've always tried to picture this with little success.
