Description
Category THARAThis model was found on the google sketchup warehouse. I downloaded it, and modified it a bit (about 2 to 3 days of solid work, even with the superb model!). I recolored the model, changed some minor details, and removed some of the extra inner details that made it hard to run on my slowish computer.
The original model is a reconstruction of the "Basilica Julia", a building at the Forum in Rome, sadly, now in ruins. As you can see, it must have been a breath-taking structure in the good old days. Note the tiny figure, added for scale.
This model is a part of my ongoing world-building project, the amazon planet of "Hera", where my gladiatrix cartoons are set (warning: lots of nudity and violence):
OTHER FINISHED WORK:
"Gladiatrix Fiona", a young thief reluctantly sells herself to the arena -- an epic, unfolding chapter by bloody chapter.
"Gladiatrix Monika" in which a gladiatrix wins her freedom - or does she?
"Gladiatrix Locusta", in which an executed Queen's life flashes before her eyes as her head falls to the sand.
"Ultimate Gladiatrix", in which four women must fight in the Deathpit until only one survives.
"Nadine Varna", Lara Croft meets the Hunger Games -- a woman-hunt set in the late 21st century.
"Spartaca", Storyboards for a future live-action all-female version of 'Spartacus'.

Thanks! Though 99% of the credit is due to the original modeler - he's done quite a few buildings from ancient rome. If you search google's sketchup warehouse for "Basilica Iulia", you'll find the source, with textures as well (along with some other buildings!)
