LONG TEXT AHEAD!! Please forgive any gramatical mistake.

“How are you feeling?” Zira asked Kifuji, who was sitting watching, as usual, Nuka playing with Vitani and Kovu. The two of them were getting bigger, but still babies who couldn’t do much by themselves. Most of the little food the pride got was mainly for Zira, so she could feed them; and for Kifuji, because of his health problems. He often denied food, however, as he prioritized his family and then the rest of the pride.

“Like yesterday. Like the day before, and the day before that.” He sighed and looked at her. “I don’t know how much time I have left, Zira. I keep telling you to reconsider your decision of staying here, and try a new place.”

“We’re staying for now, Kifuji. We’ll move eventually when you get stronger. You need to eat for that, you know… I will go hunt something for you.”

“No, stay.” He stopped her by grabbing her paw. “The girls will go later.” He looked back to Nuka and the babies. “At least they seem fine… Nuka has been a great help, you’ve raised him well.”

Zira looked at them and shrugged. “One does what it can… They are so young, they don’t know what’s going on.”

“I must admit,” he coughed, “I miss being a cub. My cubhood wasn’t perfect, but everything seemed easier as a cub.”

“Yeah, I agre-“

Suddenly, an enormous and loud roar was heard. The whole pride got alert, thinking somebody had arrived, but no. It was only them. They stayed alert and the roar was heard once again. Zira stood up and looked up to the sky, trying to figure out the destination of the roar. Luckily for her, the roar sounded a third and last time; it was from the east, and on the east… The Pridelands were located.

“That… wasn’t Scar’s roar.” Dotty said, also knowing where the roar came from. “Zira, do you-“

Zira was frozen. Her eyes didn’t move from the sky and in the far, far distance she grey clouds but as the seconds passed, she realized those weren’t clouds… but smoke. Fire smoke. “Scar…” She whispered for herself and the next second she was running towards The Pridelands.

“Zira!” Kifuji shouted. “Wait! It can be dangerous!” No use, she kept going and going.

“I’ll go with her, Kifuji.” Dotty said and quickly stood up and started to follow Zira. Spotty didn’t want to leave them alone, so she also followed.

Nuka was going to follow her, but Kifuji stopped him. “You stay here and watch your siblings.” He looked at his other lionesses. “I’ll go with them. Girls, don’t let the cubs out of sight for a minute!”

The lionesses nodded, Nuka was confused and angry, but he remembered what his mother said about being a big brother, so he stayed with his siblings, keeping them between his paws and now waiting for his mother to return… return safe and with no bad news."

Sorry this part took longer to upload! I'm currently working on commissions and I have so many sketches to finish lol. I promise to upload more often though!

Whose roar is that, I wonder? Hmmm......
