Description
The Impossible Girl and most important companion.She is the longest serving companion in Doctor Who history and appears as three distinct women Clara, Oswin, Oswald all with three story lines for each of her series.
In "The Name Of The Doctor," to save the Doctor she chooses to enter his personal time stream in his tomb on Trenzalore to try to reverse the damage done to the Doctor's timeline by the Great Intelligence. This caused the time winds to shatter her into millions of echoes or splinters that were dispersed throughout Doctor Who's personal timeline. These echoes corrected the damage caused by the Great Intelligence, but were not the original Clara. She was trapped in the Doctor's timeline, but rescued shortly thereafter.
Clara has to lie to her love ones in order to keep having adventures with the Doctor.
She becomes like the Doctor having her own adventures in the T.A.R.D.I.S. with Ashildr (Aya Stark).
For a woman who died twice she has done a lot for the Doctor over his timeline as she guided the first doctor to the right T.A.R.D.I.S. on Gallifrey, saved the previous Doctor incarnations, she pleaded with the Time Lords when the Doctor was out of regenerations for more, forced the Doctor to find a different way to win the Time War saving his soul and home planet, protected him from being eliminated by the Great Intelligence.
Born 23rd of November 1986 main companion of the 11th and 12th Doctors.

The most important companion? Maybe, the prettiest, again maybe,
but the longest serving? Are you sure about that? What about Jamie, the brigadier or Sara Jane? I suspect they all have more screen time with the doctor. Remember most of the older stories were longer then the modern day stories.
In the end it's really not worth arguing about. I think many of us would like to see more of her.

Jenna Coleman, that is pretty and universally loved.
The earlier episodes normally had four parts to them with six episodes to a season/series. Sara Jane was in four seasons and a whole lot of spin-offs, appearances and specials it's not about the screentime it's about what the companion has done for the Doctor and the timeframe she has assisted him for.
Did Sara Jane die even once for him?
It doesn't matter what happens to Clara they keep bringing her back and I'm fine with that.
We want more and we'll probably get it.

What the companion did for the doctor is a measure of importance, as is saving his bacon and figuring thins out. But it could be argued that who did what first may also be counted. Or who set what trend. Its a subjective judgment call.
Yes I would love to see stories with Clara saving the older classic doctors, but that'll never happen.
And I understand there are some fans who think Clara became too powerful?
A spin off with here and Ashilda ? Me and their dinner would be fun.
we might get more of her but it seems unlikely She's working on other things but they might get her if they do another special like the 5 Doctors or even the 2 Doctors. And the same is true for River and Rose

Yes most important companion, it all depends on the director and writers of Doctor Who at the time.

They've already superimposed Clara back with the first Doctor and fourth plus a few others.
