They look very animalistic. Not like sentinent beings but like a bunch of wild animals from a jungle planet.
Somewhat like if evolution reversed and we became monkeys again.
When I hear "posthuman" I expect to see something robotic or ethereal fairy-like. But not large apes.

juniorWoodchuck In reply to ShiroGotama [2016-10-17 14:49:21 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, most of them are indeed more like animals rather than humans... You should check out the original depictions as there are a lot of interesting informations on them there...
The robotic variation would probably fall more into the category of a transhuman rather than a posthuman. The opposite of the animalistic spectrum is very possible too though. I just usually prefer to depict the more animal-like ones

What is the name of book you are talking about? It's very fascinating. I've disovered these accounts about alternative evolution about two weeks ago. It's mindblowing.

Your welcome ...what happened to you picture? Curious ...what inspires you to draw such odd creatures? They're strange and beautiful at the same time.

juniorWoodchuck In reply to pinkfloyddarkside55 [2013-09-29 16:35:00 +0000 UTC]

Most of these creatures aren’t mine…

The main inspiration for my posthumans was probably dougal dixon’s man after man and nemo ramjet’s all tomorrows served as a fuel for my imagination too. When you’ve drawn such things for a long time it’s actually pretty easy to come up with all these different forms

In the book, the Titans are described as being forty meters long. This one looks a lot smaller than that.

Wow, this is so fascinating and haunting at the same time. There's something incredibly eerie about seeing human forms that could potentially come after us and you and all of these other artists display an amazing sense of creativity. Titan in particular strikes me as being the most exotic, yet also the most human of the bunch; it's positively frightening. You sir, are gonna give me the same nightmares I got from Dead Space. These are really spectacular, nonetheless.
