Personality: Nightmare is aggressive and belligerent by nature, violently beating down anyone who gets in his way with an eerily sinister attitude. Nightmare is also highly arrogant, treacherous and manipulative, which frequently causes him to underestimates his enemies.

--All Ectonurites are born with a second layer of skin, like a natural jacket, that covers their bodies. This skin is soft and malleable, with a texture similar to that of paper. It can be torn off and put back on at will, but when off, the Ectonurite in question loses a lot of their natural abilities and gains new weaknesses as a result, including vulnerability to sunlight.

Weaknesses:
-Nightmare's intangibility is useless when faced by another being that can go intangible, as it will cancel out his ability to do so.
-Certain substances can neutralize Nightmare's intangibility and invisibility, including Cortosis.
--Nightmare's intangibility also requires conscious thought to activate, so opponents will be able to hit him if he is caught off guard.
-There are certain beings Nightmare cannot possess, such as the undead, higher dimension entities like Dagon, Pyronites or machines.
-Vulnerability to Magic Spells, but not Mana.
-Vulnerable to seeing the face of a Terretnal Ogre.
-Vulnerable to the Sleep Dust of a Nemuina.

Trivia:
-In the 77 Universe, Zs'Skayr never escaped the Sigmatrix due to the existence of the Trix Space ensuring that he wasn't the only alien to have their own free will. However, when he attempted to, AJ cut him a deal, in which he accepted with enthusiasm.
-Ectonurites do not possess tear ducts as part of their biology. However, Nightmare has cried on multiple occasions regardless, one of which was caused by Hexagon Vreedle.
