I browsed my old art and found this www.deviantart.com/hardtimebre… with the description “welcome to opioid heaven”
And the heaven turned into HELL very quickly so I decided to draw this.
Still not convinced that you should never abuse opioids?
- being afraid nonstop of the source you get your drugs from will disappear
- addiction controls your life, your everything, everyday.
- it’s almost impossible to quit
- it will never solve your problems, it’s just covering a problem with a much bigger, worse one
- recovery takes YEARS
- there’s always the risk of relapse
- if using iv drugs, there’s always a risk of infection, abscess, sepsis, gangrene, chemical burn
- tolerance is always getting higher, you need to take more and more and more just for the same effect
- healthcare for addicted people sucks 90% of the time
- rehabs are expensive (30000-100000$ for hospitalization rehab with anesthesia)
- opioid receptors will never fully heal
- you need MASSIVE amounts of money while being an addict
- it’s just like the PSAs and teachers, parents told you, once you’ll find pleasure in using opioids you’ll always miss that feeling and you’ll want to relive it
- people will treat you like shit just because you chose an addiction that is not as popular and normalized as drinking and smoking cigarettes
- speaking of drinking, you may hop from one addiction to another, very likely alcoholism
- you’ll be scarred mentally and physically for the rest of your life
- you may get HIV if you’ll ever share a needle with someone you don’t know very well
