So, this is my newest OC! I've been working on her design for ages to get her how i wanted! Fuck i love her!!So, she is a Mix of Spiny Flower Mantis's which you can find pics and info here :-amazinglist.net/2013/03/7-amaz⦠. They are such fasinating creatures, and i always wanted a cute mantis monster girl, so here she is! She was a lot of fun to design and i hope you guys will like her
Her Arm things are bandaged shut so she cant accidentally eat someone with them (they have mouths inside) and the blue on the back of her legs is actually a type of liquid that can hold fish and other water creatures. She does have wings but she can mold them into her back to make it look like she doesn't have any. She can curl her tail up and produce massive spikes through the soft underside. The spikes on top are for show and are quiet squishy.
ALSO!! I DID A SPEED PAINTING OF THIS! To try and clear my name and because some people suggested it might help with all of the tracing crap

And before anyone else asks, no she isn't inspired by cteno. She is an insect, not a slime thing and her arm things open up how else was i supposed to draw a mantis girl without those arm things

This is the second time i've come across this. And i didn't notice the first time but, if you don't want people saying she looks Cteno inspired, then you might want to change the bug abdomen since that's basically an exact copy of Cteno's. Could always make it a little more spiky like the mantid she's based off of.  ncmuseumexhibits.files.wordpre⦠Just a suggestion :3

Too be honest, i've only seen cteno a couple of times recently and it really annoys me that people say i stole her tail. Last time i checked she was a slime thing, not an insect, and i intentionally made my oc a tail like this so she wouldn't be like cteno :/Β
Also, the spikes i have on top are like for show, so they are squishy, but she has big hard spikes that come through her underside of the abdomen when she curls it up it that makes sense? Also would have more spikes on her arms and back when she needs them. She also Β I don't even look at slugbox's art anymore unless it comes up on the front page because i got really tired of people comparing my work to his. His work is good and all, i just want to be my own artist and not compared to him.
And yeah, like on that pic you suggested, her tail would go similar when she needs the hard spikes

TBH i didn't even know Cteno was a slime girl till recently, just thought she was some weird ass monster.

But thanks, im going to do another one of her soon, and maybe change the tail a little, saw Ctenos new one and was like 'Fuuuuuuuck!" I though it was a slime thing still :/

Seriously, she's not based on cteno. I've worked on her design for a little while and tried to make the mantis arms different but it's just hard to have a mantis-insect girl without them. I think that's the only part remotely similar to cteno.Β
And heah i ah I know this, I found the programme after i had traced over my original sketch ( I like to traditionally sketch first so it's a bit hard to capture that) but I do see where your coming from.Β

The only reason she has featureless Breasts is because I wanted to be able to post it here without the adult content and some people get a little weird about it. Pretty all my characters has a similar body shape and large hips/thighs. And she has antenna things not slime hands and her tail is heaps different, last time I saw cteno she had a flowing goo tail. I don't watch slugbox anymore and it's been a while since I've seen her. And if you looked at what I reffed/Inspired her off you will see where the antenna and tail comes from, she's a spiny praying mantis not a slime thing.Β
But yeah I know people will still say what they need to about this but I don't mind

Yeah, ive had a few people have a go about it and i dont want my account blocked or anything. But i mean, nipples arnt even bad, men walk around with shirts off all the time, but if its a womans nipples oh noes!!

Also, whilst I'm here I'll tell you about the Sharkbait sketch I did. I've drawn it on paper and hopefully I can get it scanned and drew up with colour.
