I've realized there are not many custom rig ports for XNALara. I mean, there are, but if you go to SFM for example, it's full of custom rig ports. And there are some models there I haven't seen around anywhere else, not even static. The only thing I dislike is that for some reason they don't use specular textures (at least I haven't seen them in the models I've checked), just diffuse and normals. I wonder why?

Yeah, it was a bit painful in some parts. I guess I'm a bit under practice But the result came out pretty well.

Wow! Blown away by the quality of your rigging job. I'm sure yours is better than many of the original rigging I've encountered from some models.
I'm glad the lower cheek is rigged so that you can puff/pucker them. Most cheek rig from other models are almost useless.

Thank you very much, I appreciate that . I still think I have to improve with some parts like the eyebrows for example.
I was thinking in re-doing my first port released here in DeviantArt. And show the evolution of my rigging quality.
About the original riggings, I must say that some times the problem is with the programs that extract the models. Some of them loose information of the weights when extracting. But I suppose that some games must be really painful for hackers to create an extraction program fully and perfectly functional

Yea, but some original rig doesn't factor in certain expressions. DOA models for example aren't made to do large toothy grin or like I mentioned sunken/blown cheeks.
I think the eyebrows are great, it's the upper eyelid that could use a bit of work. Also the elbow bends too smoothly, it lacks the bone you added on your Joel port.
What model are you considering re-doing?

Well, it's all about keep practicing . Hopefully I will improve more. Personally I think the eyelids are fine, but not so much the eyelashes. It gets a bit tricky (for me) to make both move nice and smooth. Still, face rig in general can be a real pain
. About the elbows, I think it can also be applied to the knees. The thing is that sometimes I'm a bit lazy for those, which is funny because they are actually easy bones to apply (usually).

As said, I didn't extract the character. is the one who did it. I remember once he said he had in mind in doing other characters too. But when is up to him.
I would like to have Chloe and Elena. Sully would be good as well. So if they ever get extracted I will rig them and port them at some point

Junky didn't actually extract the model from the game himself, he just rigged it for XPS. A user named Luxox18 is the one who extracted Nate from the game, you'd have to ask him if he plans on extracting more UC models.

I've been waiting for this for years! However, I have noticed a couple of slight issues. Under default lighting and flags, the lighting doesn't match the light source. When I'm lighting him from the front, his back is being lit up while his front is in shadow. Swapping the lighting around, it also seems like his wrinkles are popping out instead of sinking in. Editing the flags to swap Z+ for Z- seems to fix both of these issues, however he then ends up with a blue sheen.

Which XPS version are you using? I suggest you to download the latest one. It should be alright just by editing the flags to X+ Y+ Z+. And the blue shine is because force shader 3.0 isn't enabled. You can enable it in the lightning options (latest XPS version has it enabled by default)
