Description
The first 3 pages of a mini-portfolio I put together when I applied for a production artist position at TokyoPop.I'm not a comic artist in the least, though I did dabble with it a few years ago. I would like to pursue that hobby when I get a chance, though after drawing a mere 10 pages, I realized that it's actually an incredible amount of work that requires more free time than I have available.

Not too bad. Working a lot, probably not drawing as much as I should. I haven't really talked to anybody in ages (except Risa). >_<

Then you should have quit your job, socializing, dating, watching tv, going out and basically having a life if you really want to continue. Thats how other comic artists do it...Why do you think their works seem so much life and realistic? Because the artists pours their lives into it.

I think the biggest thing I've realized after trying comics is that I have much more of an illustrator's mentality. I'm sure there are successful comic artists out there who can efficiently draw each panel as an illustration, but I tend to get very anal and the effort it takes for me to create just one page of a comic is more than I'm willing to give, I suppose. I also studied animation for 2 years in college, and once again, I didn't pursue it because of the same mentality.
Fortunately though, I've only had a mild interest in doing comics. XD;; I colored comics as a freelance job for a few years, and that was... more that enough experience I needed in that area @_@ But at the same time, it wasn't my own project, so who knows. Good luck with everything, and your comic work!

Thats good, if you become a full-fledge C.A. you'll go insane or starting slipping into your own world. Although slipping into your own world is pretty fun...especially when you can make other people think you're on drugs. People have gone up to me and ask them if I'm on heroine, I reply "No, I am a C.A." then I walk around in circles and talk to myself....oh dear lord I need help...Although I have to admit, even with the low-wages and empty fridge, I don't reject anything.
