Hanami is for the MLP Fair "Disaster Relief"
Let me explain to everyone who wasn't able to go to the fair. During the process of creating Frisco and Trolley for last years fair, a significant number of ponies were burned in a bad way. As a staff, we weren't sure what to do with these ruined ponies. Then we came up with the Disaster Relief customizing project. We contacted roughly 30 customizers, sent them a damaged Frisco or Trolley, and told them to do whatever they want to with the pony. The hitch was they had to keep them a secret until they were unveiled at the fair (which was very hard for us all!!) The finished products will be auctioned off throughout the year by the fair. But the best part is we will be creating a coffee table style book with all the ponies in the Disaster Relief project! It's going to be really cool!

Japanese will go to parks, shrines and temples with family and friends and hold a "flower viewing party" known as "hanami" (花見. Hanami festivals celebrate the beauty of sakura (cherry blossoms), and for many, it is a chance to relax and enjoy the beautiful view. Hanami custom in Japan dates back to many centuries ago.

Hanami has been dyed black with 'rit' dye - and then given several thin coats of "Metallic Sequin Black" paint.
Her eyes where painted blue and her lashes pink to give her a striking look against the black. She has been re-rooted with 'heart throb', 'ussycat', and 'marshmallow' colored hair from dollyhair.com. Her bun adorns chopsticks painted in a metallic pink and wrapped/tyed with rainbow 'sulky metallic' thread. Her hair also has an additonal blossom bead.
Her cherry blossom branch and blossoms have been sculpted from 'sculpy' clay and painted. She has some glitter and fasion jewels for some more sparkle.
