Check the concept arts, making of the movies (all of them), the dinosaurs themselves from the movies, how the movie makers and concept artists and sculptors describe them as and careful and extreme looking closer to details. I'm a super dino nerd bro. I know what I see.

alright so turns out that I can't send pictures in pm. You'll have to take a look at the trike scene from the first jp and notice the faint colorations on it through each second of the scene and also notice the osteoderms on its back. Then watch the featurettes and making of the third film where they will tell you about the colorations and male and females also from the second film.
