Description
This is a double page spread of New York. It's not for anything in particular, but I may put something together later, like throw Spiderman in there or something. Chicago Con is coming up, and this is part of some new stuff that I'll have there.enjoy;}

Just draw spidey and photoshop him in. Keep this piece clean. I love strong perspective pieces, drawing awesome BGs like this really strengthens the image. Something I am working at more for my stuff

Oh, dude, this was a looong time ago. I have no plans on returning to it. Thanks again. I went to a comic convention and they hammered me on my backgrounds. I realized that I didn't know what I was doing. I knew perspective, but I was missing something. So I drew nothing but buildings for months. And I began to love it! I realized that's what was missing. I didn't consider that bg's are one of the characters, and that I didn't love it. Make it so that you love it, and you'll get better. Sounds like BS, but it's true.

Well, buildings are actually pretty easy when you break it down. All it is a bunch of boxes and lines. It didn't take that long to do this. I just laid it out and filled everything in. Took about 10 hours total I think. Master perspective, from there, it's easy;} Thanks for the comments.

It's quite simple really, when you break it down to it's simplest form. The hardest part of a background of this magnitude is locating the vanishing points and making sure that they actually line up correctly. In this case, I used reference....problem solved for me;} Then, all I have to decide, is how real do I want it to look....how much detail should I go for? In this particular photo, there hundreds of air-conditioners in most of the windows. I could've thrown those in there, but that wouldn't have added as much as say....putting all of the water towers on top of the buildings. After that, it's only a matter of drawing thousands of boxes..... literally.

Just freaking crazy...absolutely beautiful work. I support the idea of throwing a background character....or like the Fantasticar in the air. Better yet Iron Man blasting through the sky. I think this looks good by itself, and you definitely got this down. Keep it up...and take care of the fam, especially the new ones lol.
