It had been a long, hard day of hero work. First it had been a run-of-the-mill bank robbery, then a raging apartment fire, and finally a passenger train full of commuters decided it was the perfect time to derail in the middle of liberty bridge, right on her lunch break!
To make things even worse, Professor Cadmium had decided to come out of retirement (for the ...seventh time?) just to test his new MICROWAVE-INDUCED DEVASTATOR BEAM 3000! on the unwitting populace!

That one had taken more doing, and ALARA had to bulk up her stature a little to go toe to toe with the diminutive madman, finally squashing his robo-spiders flat and carting him off to central with much fanfare. Now she deserved some much needed rest, stripping out of her costume and slipping into the pool of toxic waste the local power plant has so graciously provided their fresh new hero. The bubbling muck felt simply divine caressing her radioactive form, but right as she prepared to slip into its depths, she heard the tell-tale buzz she was becoming only too acquainted with. With a frown, she turned, getting ready to shoo them out of her "me time", before suddenly freezing -that was Channel 22 wasn't it? And it was past 8, which meant.. Oh god, that's Brock Castle, isn't it?

With a sudden scramble, ALARA assumed what she hoped was a nonchalant expression, casting a look over her shoulder at who she reckoned was the most ruggedly charming action reporter this side of Emerald city.

"Don't you boys think it's a little late for an interview...?"
