Her arrival had been an unanticipated one; a surprise to her own forces, let alone the armies defending the city of Myrydna. Not even her generals had been made aware. It was but on a whim that the Crimson Goddess decided to grace the field that day. A choice Kara made as casually as one might decide to take a leisurely stroll, only with far more disastrous repercussions for all.

The two armies had already been locked in the midst of combat when the earth beneath them heralded something terrible. In that moment the fighting ceased with the Myrydnans confused as to what these sudden tremors even were, but the reprieve in bloodshed did not last for long. The tremors grew stronger and stronger and yet still Kara's forces dashed at their enemy. The dogged fanatics pushed their advantage while the confused Myrydnans were attempting to figure out the source of these quakes. The fighting resumed, leaving only those in the backlines to see her then.

Bounding over entire mountainsides, Kara strode onto the field and did not stop there. Her long legs quickly carried her towards her goal, not breaking her ponderous stride for even a moment. Kara had locked onto the city with a hawkish intent, her focus unflinching. All else seemed to vanish from her sight then.

The enemy forces out on the field had no idea what to even make of the sight. Many trembled, their grips loosening around their weapons. All around shields and spears alike fell from their hands as countless Myrydnans broke rank in the hope they might escape. Many found themselves cut down from behind as still her forces pushed ahead. They continued to fight as best they could manage even then, as her thundering steps became nearly unbearable. Their devotion beggared belief in truth. It went unrewarded.

A sandaled foot crashed right into her own backlines, instantly crushing thousands and sending hundreds more careening through the air. Still she did not break stride. The air around the embattled forces stirred as her next step passed overhead deeper into the field. Her sandal covered entire legions, coming down directly into the enemy force with disastrous results. Both forces had suffered intense casualties, but truth be told Kara had not noticed either army. Entire swathes of troops crushed into the dirt beneath her tread, but to her they may as well have not even been there. No, Kara's true goal now lay before her.

Myrydna, a city of boundless wealth and home to hundreds of temples. Temples to false gods of all kind. The thought alone stoked her ire so. It was no wonder that Kara had marched afield that day with such singular focus. The wealth of this kingdom was of no meaning to her.

No. Myrydna had but one use to her now. It would be an example.
