Description
This Tiger Beetle darted across my path, but I was able to spot where it was hiding in the foliage. I double-checked my camera settings and caught my breath before getting into the prone position. I made sure to line myself up so the beetle was obfuscated by leaves and couldn't see me. I pushed my camera through the leaves and took a quick test shot. Everything looked good, so I pushed the camera closer. I took three rapid shots and focus-stacked them to get the entirety of the beetle in focus. The beetle then vanished from the leaf, leaving this as my one chance to get a good stack.
