I switched to 80x80 portraits for Wings of Aetos a while back and some portraits needed to be adjusted. Believe it or not, I used a photograph of myself as a model for this portrait.[Previous Version ]

Making any surface look like chrome in pixel art is really tricky, but I've gotten a bit better with each attempt. I'm much happier with this version, and part of that is also that I've re-framed the portrait to avoid cropping out any of his signature pompadour.
As for the expression, I used a photo of myself for the model and tried to make it look like I was turned slightly away from someone, looking back with a controlled expression of incredulity while hanging my head downward very slightly, as if it were weighed down but a metal pompadour.

Thanks. Most people render chrome as if it's reflecting a desert horizon, but I try to keep Deacon looking like he's reflecting a gray road or metallic landscape under a clear blue sky, which fits the character better.
