I went out today, a little depressed. I think I am sick of clouds and rain.I am glad I took my camera, there were lots of beautiful things in the macro world around me.

This is such an esthetically pleasing piece and most of the compliment part of your critique I'm going to give you is all my own personal bias and taste! I feel like this piece was made for me because first of all your choice of placement is something I do frequently- off to the right with lots of negative space for emphasis. I love the tight DOF, another personal fav. I can only suggest (and I know it's hard with a 50mm) that consider stepping back further and cropping the image to this size so you can get an even tighter focus on the flowers. The colours are nice and soft and warm but I'm also curious how it would look in cooler colours.
I don't think of it as growing flowers- I wonder if it's adorning someone's head because we're really just getting the suggestion of it's setting and I love that. Totally mysterious.

I know, I get wrapped up in my macro world and forget that it's ok to step back! c:
The colors were only warmed slightly, and when I tipped it cooler (I always try both ways) it just looked sad and wintery.The warmer tones felt like sun and life!
