Description
The other day my friend and I watched Thor and she remarked that Loki is unique from other Marvel villains because while you can see in their eyes that they simply ooze pure evilness, Loki's eyes had this permanently mischievous look in them no matter what kind of nefarious act he was committing, almost as if he didn't really mean them to be evil but as petty tricks (I know killing Coulson is NOT mischievous). And this is almost a measure of skill because apparently Tom is such a good actor that he can simply compress the character of a person into his eyes. I mean I read somewhere that he could have just portray Loki as a two dimensional villain but he choose to look deeper instead. I threw in Captain Nicholls because he had a 360 character change in WarhorseSorry this became an essay in my defense I was busy cramming for law and history which simply ask for analytical thinking and I'm still sort of trapped in that mindset
Tools used: hB and 2B mechanical pencils, sepia tone added digitally.

I love how he can show so much emotions with only his eyes, it made his acting very electrifying to watch especially Loki > <

Yeah... and his eyebrows emphasize his emotions along with his eyes. He's one of the best actors I have ever seen. Not only because he's so handsome, but also because he really does act brilliantly.

I love this. And I really love how you drew Tom's eye. Its almost as if he's sad. He has very telling eyes.

You're welcome! Ahhaa well if you hadn't told me I would've thought he was sad, which is not normal for him so

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! The shading, the light and the incredible variety of expressions... ah, how not to love him?
And I agree, Loki is a little bit childish, while he used to be sweet and innocent, with a penchant for tricks, he later becomes malicious in his acts of cruelty, not evil - I love that subtle distinction

Highly, highly impressive. This was not something I would have realized if not for it being captured in such a simple format. I think that this, & while I have perused now hundreds of Loki-centric images on DA, is one of those exceedingly few pieces of art work I'd suggest be sent to Mr. Hiddleston. Indeed, I believe I've only truly thought that of 2, maybe 3, things. While there are few people who can paint/draw or otherwise originally render a portrait of of Mr. Hiddleston in such realistic detail, they are fairly abundant on this site, more so than I would have expected. But the uniqueness of your work here has set itself apart, in my eyes (what a marvelous pun there!) & THAT'S why I believe it should be forwarded on to he whose eyes these originate with. Good job! Cheers!

I'm sure w/ all the self-images famous people receive, something serious & well done, such as your piece, is a welcomed relief from the craziness & can be appreciated -- your work is focusing on something that most actors work very hard on, minute control of facial features, rather than on something larger like the entire face or body. Or, in other words, "not creepy." Cheers!

If one didn't know it, I think it would be pretty hard to see either Loki or Captain Nicholls and afterwards the other character and immediately think "Hey, that's the same actor!" Truly, Tom Hiddleston makes his characters into real persons in their rights.

True to that, I bet if I wasn't a fan of Tom Hiddleston (or was unaware of his epicness) I would probably think both are of different actors
