Okay, I can agree with you about Squidward's misery and Spongebob doing it for no reason, but that's my theory and thoughts( trying to stay valid here, no offense). Besides, I did plan to do theories soon. And speaking of mistreatment, there are times in the series where none of the characters done the obvious choices. And since Squidward AND Mrs. Puff are the captives of this, they could have at least won at the end, stand up for themselves, and put their feet done maturely at Spongebob so he won't harassed them anymore instead of killing and basically get away from him, even though that won't solve anything and making things worse. Its either they too stupid to figure that out, more focused and can't stand on Spongebob bad actions, or because the writers themselves won't allow that to happened since they believe that tormenting a innocent character is funny, even though its not. As for SpongeBob's Torture Episodes, the torment should have happened in episodes where he deserves it, like A Pal For Gary, Boating Buddies, and Squid's Visit. In this case, the Squidward torment is actually toning down ever since Sponge-Cano (except a few slip-ups), since Spongebob openly admitted that he's the reason of his misery and probably shameful for what he did in those episodes (plus sacrificing himself). And at the end, Squidward pout out lied to him instead of thanking him for not being dumped into the volcano and accepting his forgiveness. And for Mrs. Puff, she figures if Spongebob overcome his fear of the road, he will finally get his license (but thanks to the writers, that failed miserably). They have most creative idea, and yet the smashed it. The only times I felt rage at Spongebob is around the episodes of Seasons 6-7 (aka the hellspawn/seasonal rot of the Spongebob series) at his worst.

Patrick was once a character I could relate to, a guy who's kinda lazy but can be very smart at times. But then, his infamous quote, "I was one of the beautiful people, now look at me!", started to take hold. And that's now Fatprick came along. Sigh.

That's actually a good question. So far, the only options of torture he gets is either No Hat for Pat or Porous Pockets. Overall, I don't know. There are so many of his worst moments in the series I can't really tell if there is an actual Torture Episode for the starfish.

Wow, no only he have more Torture episode then any other character, he actually get the most painful of all of them, I mean yeah what happen to Mr Krabs in Pat no Pay was bad, but SpongeBob get nearly killed in Stuck in the wringer.

Of course. And if we thought that Squidward gets the most pain, well, let's just say he's not alone. Since the octopus is getting tortured recently, Spongebob on the other hand was nearly KILLED in the process (like Stuck in the Wringer, The Card, Sponge-Cano, or The Splinter for example). And nobody gave a dang about him at all because of his ANNOYANCE. Seriously? WHAT DOES BEING ANNOYING GOING TO DO WITH IT?! And I can tell Spongebob is suffering the manipulating ways from the ENITRE CAST. I think that's the reason for his "flanderization". Deep down, Spongebob wants to get away from the monsters around more than Squidward, but he knows that something MAJOR will happen to him later on if he did (Oh wait. WHTS got that covered.)

Well at the way I see it I think his "Flanderization" come from the forced plots, with episodes like Squid Woods is not exacly him, they just make him like that. But yeah he have the most painful of all of them.
