I suppose it's a reaction time thing, you know? Technically he could, but in reality it takes a split second to fall a relatively short distance, and it takes some conscious thought to actually react to it. ...That being said, I had him teleport out of the way of an arrow in an earlier comic, so I got nothing. All hail amusing plot devices?

I also have a question. You and others keep spelling Jaque's name as "Jacques" in the comments even though that's not the way I spell it in the comic. Is it just habit? Because if I took a more "American" name and spelled it in a unique way (IE Melyssa or something like that) nobody would question it. =/
