Description
Here is a reference of Yukiko's iconic sword in it's current design. Through time I removed the katana looking guard and the flower pattern bc it was too much and looked too heavy for Yukiko's little stature.

Airi (愛莉) is the umbrella-katana Gaara gave Yukiko at the end of Shippuden era. Why ? You will have the full story of Airi through fakescreenshots I'm working on redrawing on my main account !
But to sum it up I would say that the idea came from a conversation they had in classic era : Their relationship was kinda rocky still as they both were clumsy, and discovering new feelings he wasn’t ready to accept at the moment. It resulted in a fight one day. Even though she wasn’t fighting back. Just letting him unleash all his violence. « If it can help you feel better. But you’ll see you’ll only feel more lonely once you’ll kill me. » And he did feel terribly bad when he almost lost her.

After this bad incident, Gaara decided to try to apologize to her by coming to her with his umbrella, to keep her covered. His clothes had changed from his black outfit to a dark red one. He was willing to make efforts, to really change, because he understood hurting her did not make him feel better. And at this moment she could feel he was willing to make the effort, and really trying to be the best version of himself so she accepted the apology (and the umbrella) gladly and continued talking to him like if nothing wrong happened. He had understood the consequences of his actions already, no need to insist. She better support him.

When he gave her the umbrella, she started talking about how cool it would be to have a katana inside an umbrella to be able to fight+ be safe from the sun. It was one of her many crazy ideas. He said nothing, but this one he never forgot. She was surprised he even remembered because of the lack of reaction he had at the time, but it made her realise that even if he is silent he always listens.

Yet years later, when they were grown up and a stable couple, he gave her the umbrella katana "Airi" (愛莉). Just like she mentioned, an umbrella with a blade inside !
So she could protect herself from both her enemies and the sun. He thinks she is a strong woman despite the apparences and her lack of physical strength, and that she is capable of defending herself because she saved herself already. But of course he would like to be able to protect her, always … he just cannot as they are living so far apart. Airi is also a way for her to remember that he loves her and cares for her.
