Description

The Cardeus is a Crimson Skull ship built on top of an old mining vessel. The Crimson Skull take large pieces of armor plating and put it over the old hull and use the ore containers as storage for their stolen goods and ammunition. Large missile launchers are mounted on the sides for use in broadside attacks. A common tactic that the Crimson Skull use is to wait along known shipping lanes and drop unsuspecting freighters out of hyperspace using illegal technology. This causes most ships to shut down and makes them easier to board. The Crimson Skull typically go after independent freighters as they are easy targets and don't have escorts. While the armor makes for good protection it makes the ships handle poorly. If the cargo cannot be moved quickly or backup arrives most pirates will jump to the nearest safe system and then scope out a different target.
