Meanwhile, on the other side of the world. "Raaaagggggghhhh!" Sgt. Bruce Lasky roared as he burned the charging Japanese. Crouched beside him, Pvt. Karen Walsh was horrified at the sight of the burning soldiers. "Don't shoot! Let 'em burn!" Bruce yelled. Thinking that it wasn't necessary to prolong these people's deaths, she aimed her M1 Garand and shot them to end their suffering. Bruce looked at Karen and asked "What the hell do you think your doing Private? I told you to let 'em burn." Karen glared at her superior "Do you really think its necessary to let them suffer more before their deaths? Don't you think this is too much?" Bruce fumed and grabbed her by the shirt "You say that now, but what will you do when these fucks stick a bayonet at your best friend's back or watch them blow themselves up and take out the medic trying to help with them!? You gonna give 'em a slap on the wrist and tell 'em to sit in a corner and think about what they've done!?" She kept her glare "I would shoot the bastards down. But that doesn't mean I'll treat the rest of these guys like them. Everyone is different, maybe some of them fought to protect someone they care about or they were just following orders, isn't that the same thing we're doing? Following orders and fighting to protect our families. Doesn't that mean we're the same as these people?" Bruce let her go and turned his back on her, he muttered "Don't you ever compare me to these... Yellow monkey bastards." With that he walked away and went inside the captured bunker. He saw a dead Japanese soldier by the wall holding a small photo of a woman holding a little baby in her arms. He suddenly remembered Karen's words 'Everyone is different, maybe some of them fought to protect someone they care about or they were just following orders, isn't that the same thing we're doing? Following orders and fighting to protect our families. Doesn't that mean we're the same as these people?' Bruce thought his mind was made up, but now, he wasn't so sure anymore. He wished John was still here, he could've given him an answer to his warring thoughts.
