Description These brushes simulate graphite/pencil in photoshop.

There are 2 types of brushes, 'sketchy' and smooth. There are angled and round versions of each.

I intended these to be used by people who want to use Drawing Tablets in Photoshop, but they can be used with a mouse as well. However, you won't be able to benefit from the Pen Pressure settings.

Tips:
Make sure you put your colours as default-- Black and White, or set the top colour for whichever hue you'd like, I find that darker colours produce a better result.

If you'd like it to 'build up' like a real pencil you should have the brush set to Darken and/or lower the opacity.

If you want to make these seem more "H" or "B" just go to brush settings and toy with the opacity, flow, and fore/background jitters.

--
For photoshop 7 or below, go to [link] and look at the options for the brush. You can make your own- sorry, I don't have photoshop 7 but if someone wants to make these compatible go ahead just make sure to link back!

There is everything you should need to make your own version of the main brush. There are a few others that are just variations on that, but that's the one I like best.

Actually I just looked it up, I would need photoshop 7 in order to do this and I don't have it. I'll make a little tutorial thing and post it for people who need it, then you can make it yourself.

Can you please make the brushes compatible with Photoshop 7? My drawing tablet is quite old and the pen pressure only works in PS 7.

That's a screenshot of the options so you can make your own version of the main brush. Sorry, I don't have photoshop 7

I don't know how, I thought CS3 was compatible with 7.

I'll look into it, sorry. If I can't find out I'll just jot down how to reproduce it- it's fairly easy and I'm sure with some tweaking you could make a ps7 version. (I don't actually HAVE ps7 so idk if I can even make it work...)

How do I get them?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

K3lit0 In reply to jg233 [2008-05-23 22:23:56 +0000 UTC]

Click "Download" on the left side of the screen, then when you're in photoshop and using the brush tool you can right click anywhere to bring up the brush menu, click the little arrow and then hit 'replace brushes, then browse for the file and BAM you're done.

Is the pressure working on the tablet? Do other brushes work with it? You may have to go to start->en tablet->tablet and set it up, or reinstall the drivers.

Other than that I have no idea, I use a graphire and it works fine. sorry

that's good!!!! DD omg ty for showing me!! I'm glad they worked well for you. If you have any suggestions or critique on them I'd love it.

DarkJediPrincess In reply to K3lit0 [2008-02-15 17:25:57 +0000 UTC]

My only suggestion is that we might benefit from having both a round-tip brush and a tapered one like the one you've already got But other than that, they're perfect!

K3lit0 In reply to DarkJediPrincess [2008-02-16 23:06:11 +0000 UTC]

I added round brushes, so you can re-download and tell me if they're better for you!

Very nice brush, but I think it would be even nicer if it had a round shape. Is there some way I can change that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

K3lit0 In reply to DashMonkey [2008-02-13 21:54:58 +0000 UTC]

Yes there is.. You can go brush options and change the shape to whatever you want. I will add a round brush to it when I get home and upload it. ty for suggestion. <3
