Sorry, what version of photoshop do you use? Did you try to download the finished brush? These instructions are mostly for people who can't get the brush to work, like in PS7.

I set everything the same as in the pictures above. But my brush didn't turn out to have the tips fading... just a "noisy" black line... I'f you like I can send you a screenshot of the turnout...

It might have to do with pen pressure. Were you using a tablet? Sorry it's been a while since I messed with this, I'll look into it though. Try downloading the brushes straight from my gallery, if you have higher than PS7 they should work ok. Sorry about the trouble.
