Perhaps notch will add thisOK so what this does is if you place the lantern it will begin to slowly (1 block every 30 secs) float up to amaximum of 15 block above placement or top block in enclosed area. If an arrow hits the floating lantern, it will crash & burn ...quite literaly...when the lantern is in the air for 3 MC days, it will slowly descend ack to the ground (again 1 block for 30 sec). If a mob comes in contact with the lantern it will burn for about 1 minute & extinguish its self....all except for chickens & creepers....creepers would just self destruct...

Interesting idea . . . But I can see some pretty annoying issues . . .
1. It can't really be a block can it?
2. Coding that could take awhile. Not including the chances of making a entity like Sand, and then making it a destructible object that reacts in such a way to animals, arrows and the player.
3.The possible horrible bugs and FPS issues that might follow. Notch isn't known to have the most bug free patches. But it is beta right?
Maybe a Modder can easily do this? But that lantern would take a whole new mechanic almost.

hhahahahahahahaha thats a good one! there are a million things Notch should do but doesnt. thats why people make so many mods (which this guy probably should look into instead of going straight to Notch)
