Rian wanted to get an early start on the Python hunting as this would be his and Arson's last day in the Everglades National Park before getting a plane back to Virginia. He wanted to make sure Arson and himself helped with the removal of the invasive Burmese Pythons as much as possible before leaving the following day. It was sunset and Rian removed the leash from Arson, attached a radio collar and a cape to a harness that says "Python Tracker". Rian looked at Arson, pat his back and said, "Find Python."

Arson took off, full speed, sniffing the air as he ran South from where they parked the truck. He slowed down a few times to sniff the ground and sniff through foliage, the strong smell of Burmese Python filling his nose. He raised his tail and perked his ears, looking through the foliage but not finding anything, then he trotted to the tree line, searching through the trees. He looked up and placed his front paws on the bark of the tree, pinning his ears back as he sniffed the bark, the smell being faint. The dog looked a little frustrated for a moment before recouping and turning around and returning to the foliage.

Arson sniffed through the foliage and bushes, his paws sinking into the mud and grass beneath his paws and he began to bark, indicating that he has the scent of a Python and he looked around more, sniffing. He followed a scent trail on the ground, keeping his nose low to the ground and then he noticed movement on a large gray rock. Arson shot his head up to get a good look and sat down, alerting to a fully grown, adult Burmese Python. Arson had two Python alerts- sitting down for adults, and laying down for juveniles or smaller adults. Rian walked over and patted Arson's head and called the team in on the radio, giving their location.

Two men and a woman approached after about fifteen minutes with snake hooks, a bucket, and a towel. The three of them and Rian fought with the large python and removed it from the area. Rian gave the team a nod and looked down at Arson who was panting and looking at him; the sun had fully set now and it was time to fully get to tracking. Rian nodded to his dog and spoke, "Find Python." Arson wagged his tail and then went on his way, beginning his second search of the evening.
