Thanks, I do have those kind of specs in my head when I work on these designs, but I never write them down. So now time has past and I have no idea any more.

It really makes it more interesting. BTW What program(s) do you use to do your designs? and how long does it usually take?

I use SketchUp8 for building the models, Kerkythea for rendering and GIMP for post processing.
I think if I worked on one without stopping, it would take like 12hrs or something.

do you come up with the designs off the top of your head or do you use a combination of real life inspiration and pure imagination? What I guess I'm asking is when you start a project, do you know exactly what you have in mind or do you just play around with a design until it feels right to you?

I have a role in mind, like multirole frigate and I'll have a look at other designs in that role. But no, I don't have any idea how it will look like when it's done.
