I thought I'd do one last revampThis was originally done as a commission for a friend.It's all good practice. Thanks for looking.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
Right, so I finally got some specific critiques and I was able to go back and do some more rendering. A definite improvement.

You're really close to realistic. The eyes are excellent especially the highlights. The teeth and mouth as well. However we start to lose definition in the muzzle and the colour and fur as well as lighting starts to become a little flat and inconsistent in some areas. It makes me wonder exactly what animal I'm looking at- a wolverine, wolf, rat? The claws and shoulders make me think it's a little anthropomorphic so perhaps a were- something. The framing and perspective is really interesting. I like the in your face dynamic. Next time I suggest if you're going to have little bits of the surroundings like the twigs go a little bigger and a little more. Really make us feel like it's jumping out at us! great stuff. Hope to see more.

thank you very much for the critique. The inconsitent lighting on the muzzle and head are my feeble attempts to create shadows from the branches. The creature is a Dire Wolf. Something of a mythical beast of great size and agression.

The blur was my attempt at depth of field. I guess I over did it a touch.
Hmm, the mouth may be just a tad bit small. I will have to look into that.

Very awesome!!!! Just think what lets this one down is a bit of finer detailing/rendering on the closer part - ie face. It's so close to being amazing it pains me xD But rememeber - that just my opinion!

And a valid one. I believe your the second person who's made such a comment. I'm just afraid of overworking it and I'm not sure where to go from here. I would be more than happy if you could provide some specific areas I might work on or what you think is needed. I understand the face needs better rendering but...I'm unsure beyond that.

I dont actually think much needs to be done with the face, just lighting and really refining the fur. I don't know if I have time but could try overpaint to show you what I mean? :-/ Or I'll try to explain in detail a bit later what I mean as I'm a bit sick right now and shouldnt be at the computer!

Thank You. I admite I never got around to submitting it. Mainly due to the fact that I knew it needed refining but was unable to see what I needed to do. An over paint would be welcome, any suggestions/critiquing/guidance is welcome. I will be patient though. You should take care of yourself first.
Go get some rest, drink plenty of liquids and if it's a cold, eat lots of soups, noodles and chicken! If you have a fever then wrap yourself up tight and sweat it out. Keep hydrated! I'll check back in a few days.

i rlly likw it! it looks like hes going to jumb out of the page to bite my head off!! you definetly got the mood and setting right in my mind.
the only thing i think that would of made this more amazing is if you would of taken more time to probably polish this a litle more.. to see more of the finer details.. personally i find the wolf still a litle unfinished.. i would of definetly faved if the wolf didnt seem so blurry in the picture!!
