Description
This is a bit late - but here it is - *figarou 's awesome character Dragonfyre... gotta love the design...
This started off as a doodle, and turned into this. I 'couldn't be bothered will lineart, so spent over a week hand-drawing and shading each individual scale at a rate of one scale every five minutes... please download for fullview of them if it doesn't crash your computer

I like the idea, but it seems more logical for the other wing to block the rain because of the direction of the rain. However, the artistic merits are not lost. Love the way the rain looks.

Wow! I have to hand it to you, this is, without a doubt, one of your best works to date! And with the amount of devotion that I can see to this picture, it doesn't surprise me that it took you a week. There is a more significant sense of maturity, size, strength and majesty about the dragon in this picture that I noticed transcends your usual lanky mannerism of anatomy, and I really love that potently executed definition in the impressions of its body, from the symmetry of its neck to the bony indentations of the extremities.
The pose is just wonderful, too, particularly with that regal arch in both wings that appear to be embracing the crisp stormy air, and the shading around the details of the features and scales is magnificent! I can see entire combinations of colour squeezed into the overlapping brush strokes! I also really like the way you drew the paws, and how your head proportioning in this picture deviates once again from how you usually draw them - and those glowing eyes are gorgeous! -.
As for the background itself, it truly does the character as much justice as the dragon in this picture pays tribute to the original. Such petulant hues of grey and intense arcs of lightning, and the ferocity of the rain really emphasizes the severity of the storm, in spite of the character's ironically serene composure.
Just stunning!

I'm SO jelious! I wanna eat a dinosaur!
Why are you making everything so hard to me?
I can't look at your art, because the fact you are THAT better makes me sad..
I can't get enough of thinking about it, so I don't even know do I like watching it or not..
Yes, I say yes, but I'm so jelious, so I can't explain you how I feel..
I'm tired when I think of your work, sometimes, I wanna just enjoy watching it, but noo, your work is so special, interesting.. I'm quite sure there's something special with it..
So.. why every other good art makes me only fav it and sometimes post a comment like 'nice' or 'good work, i live it', and your makes me stop, watch and think about it for a while?
It also stays in my head whole day.. There's something that makes my brain hold the picture and think to it..
See, CaSF-s art is good looking, and she IS the best, but you are special. Much people can't see these things.
..So what I wanna say is that you are one of best artists I've ever met!

Thankyou so much... I love you !
I get that feeling when I look at other people's art too, especially CASF, *Dark-Sheyn or *akreon
But you're honestly really good - you're art's a ton better than mine was a few months back.
It's very nice to be appreciated though - thanks again

And that you did.
If college wasn't keeping you busy, I would ask you to do a reference sheet of my dragon character.

Thanks for feeding my eyes with this picture Hmm, i'm not really sure where to start, but oh well: when i look at the dragon, i somehow get a feeling that it's not grounded, like it's hovering... the shadow should be more intense, at least where paws touch the ground/or instead of a shadow you could draw some grass knoked by the paws, so it indicates that the dragon is actually standing on the ground. Water drops only from the left wing and the dragon should be more wet i think, because it would suit the ammount of rain you have in the picture. The only thing i can say about the background is that some raindrops are way too big, there are not many of them, so they're barely noticeable. I love the way you drew the rain actually...i'm drawing a picture with rain too and it rains heavily, but even though the ammount of rain i have is the same, i need to improve it somehow, guess i'll have to analyze this artwork of yours then
It's great that you spend so much time on the details, it really pays off. Keep it that way, i'm really interested to see how you will improve over time.
