I started drawing this a while ago, meaning for it to 'set' in a calm, more realistic sunset to practice painting realistic skies.I got halfway through the lineart and then went to watch the Simpsons.
Some months later, I rediscovered it and liked the pose enough to give it a second shot and though I gave up on the background almost immediately, I'm pleased with this result.
I didn't like the idea of doing a lightning storm - they're pretty overdone, especially on DA and as a result not exactly very original but what the heck, I had fun with this - probably because I didn't work it (or myself) to death, and I like it, so screw you.

I like it! I think it could've been added if there was a secondary color on the left. To help balance the composition and interest in the illustration. It's perfectly fine as is, you did a great job

Nice work, the sky is looking quite realistic to me, who cares if "dragon in a lightning storm" has been done before, it's still your own unique take on it.

It's really beautiful...
Most kinds of sky have probably been overdone XD but you make lightning storms look incredible. I love the lighting in this.
