Description
A clouded leopard practicing her swordplay in a rainshower...I'm rather fascinated with Ancient China, and the artistic cinematography in Hong Kong kung fu movies set in Ancient China, such as "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", and "Hero" - which provided inspiration for this piece.
I also wanted to really have a setting that felt real - that felt like the character was really immersed in the setting - using lighting, perspective, and the rain to unify the piece.
This was a difficult piece for me, but also a very fulfilling one, in the challenges I posed for myself. I think it is too early for me to really say how well I did at those challenges, but I think it was definately worthwhile, and I'm proud of it

Thanks very much . I am still pleased with the piece, even after almost a year.
The piece took me roughly a week of work - I didnt count the hours, but I don't think I worked on anything else for about a week.

This is an absolutely beautiful picture, but raising a sword over your head in that much lightning could get you fried real fast.

Wow, that's beautiful... the tenseness of the picture, the rain bouncing off all the surfaces, and the lighting (and the reflection in the sword!) are all so beautiful... Lovely use of colours, you're amazing!

The statue in the background's a great touch, the setting as a whole completely believable.

It's earned a place in my favorites. It's good to see a furre with actual fur! ...rather than plain shiney skin or whatever. Nice work.

Wow, that's just fantastic. Everything is so realistic. The water dripping from the tip of the sword really got me. And the lighting is awesome. The little ripples of water as the raindrops hit in the background... Just awesome.

Oh my goodness... I am blown away by the perfection!!!! The rain and surfaces it splashes on are extremely realistic, as well as the lighting effects, as well as literally EVERYTHING this pic has to offer!!!! And of course I'm enthralled by the naturalistic, determined pose of the character!!!!
This is probably one of your highest achievements in using your artistic skills to its maximum potential.
HOW on earth did you do so well? Are there ANY references or prepared studies used in making this masterpiece? Was your grandfather a Civil War veteran? (alright, I'm getting a bit carried away)
I love you with so much intensity it's immeasurable! ^_^
