Description A clouded leopard practicing her swordplay in a rainshower...

I'm rather fascinated with Ancient China, and the artistic cinematography in Hong Kong kung fu movies set in Ancient China, such as "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", and "Hero" - which provided inspiration for this piece.

I also wanted to really have a setting that felt real - that felt like the character was really immersed in the setting - using lighting, perspective, and the rain to unify the piece.

This was a difficult piece for me, but also a very fulfilling one, in the challenges I posed for myself. I think it is too early for me to really say how well I did at those challenges, but I think it was definately worthwhile, and I'm proud of it .

Wow, wonderful job. This has to be the most detailed piece of work I've seen here on DA. Plus, pose and expression of the leopard and the perspective are amazing.

That is quite brilliant. The rain, the light spilling out from the house, the folds in the clothes - they're all fantastic. There's even a hint of Michelle Yeoh about the cat herself...perhaps that cos she's quite a cat-like person generally
brill. more swordfighting cats!

Freaking amazing, I honestly never expected the picture to come out so detailed, vivid and alive. The light is accurate, and you pulled off the rain extremely well. It's almost like something out of a movie, in fact it would've looked just like a still from one if it was in a widescreen ratio...
Being this a traditional painting, I can only imagine how grand this looks in person. It's quite an outstanding job really.

Yay for kung fu! One might question the wisdom of training in the middle of a storm, but hey, that's what all those serious, revenge type people do in the movies

wow..words really cant express the emotion and the beauty captured in this piece. The colors are so perfect, the sword looks so real and the rain so wet. The perspective is awesome and the entire piece is wrapped up so nicely by all of its attributes. I really enjoyed this as a sketch but the finnished prodcut here really blows me away. Awesome work!

Ho-ly Shit!

I think I can confidently say this is your best work to date... but not only that, this is probably the best work of art I've ever seen that features an anthro...

It's simply rediculas... I have no words to describe this...

I'm no fan boy of anything or anyone... but I can't help but idolize you and this just a little bit...

I mean, this must have taken months...

But yanno, I think what I really see and admire most in your artwork is the unwavering dedication you sem to have to a thing called “beauty”.

Take care now.

I have a particular fascination with East Asian culture in general, right beside Middle Eastern culture. Watching those movies seems to have paid off, because this pic really captures the look and feel of Ancient China. The only thing I noticed was that the Tai-chi sword looks a little dull, and the leapordess' head doesn't have that "wet fur" look to it.

Other than that, wonderful! Keep up the gewd work!

You did an excellent job on it, too! The rain effect is marvelous, and so is the lighting. The movement is great.
A photo, you could call it, if the elements within were possible(the anthromorphic?).

By the way, on Fur Affinity, I posted more WIPs as I did the color, they are in my scraps directory - my username on there is Kacey - just in case you want to see

Maybe I should have posted the color WIPs here, too - I just didnt think to at the time.

I already have you on my watch on FA as well. I'm going to peek at your scraps because I didn't know you submitted more coloring in-progress pictures.
I think that's a great idea, the people who may not visit FA could get a chance to see them too.

The pose is very nice, too, and I think the rain is pretty well executed (especially the drops of water that fall of the blade; those really make it feel more real)

I've been folowing your WIP posts on FA and I can say that the end is truly amazing.

The set from your last WIP and the final here is huge. The rain is a really great final touch.

And it's always nice to see WIP shots and get a look at the process of creating an art piece.
