Description
This is an illustration that I did for a story by Will Sanborn. In this scene, a male student finds himself at a school of Rrakith. Being the only human can make one feel ill at ease, but after an encounter in gym class, he begins to make a friend.To find out more about the Rrakith, and other stories, check out these books!

I often found myself thinking what kinda racial issues would be between humans and anthros. If skin color is problem in these days, imagine fur and digitigraded legs o.O

This peice looks so simple, yet it is still an amazing work.
I do not think I have ever used graphite before, but there is supposed to be a 'liquid graphite' out now or very soon.

The boundariless talents you possess. I always find it curiously interesting to find humans and anthros interacting with each other. It really stretches the limits of the mind to areas unobtainable by average thought. The realism plays tricks with the mind, too, but in a good way.
Maybe I'm overexamining this image. lol

ok, but just a question, you could also continue, making the coloured version withouth removing this one, or is it like you dont work furhter then paid for?

I could color it digitally I suppose, if I were to obtain permission to do so by the characters' owner... but I have a lot of other things I want to do, and its a matter of priorities 
Personally, with the graphite shading, I feel that the image is finished enough.

The sketch probably took me about an hour, hour and a half - inking and shading took a couple of hours more. Not entirely sure - I did this a few months ago, so I don't really recall.

Nah - unless its a really big piece, I don't tend to keep track of time while I'm working. Its funny - I can get really into something, and look up at the clock, and suddenly its five hours later, and I didn't even notice the time pass. I go into 'the zone', I suppose

i think i went into a near coma today. i was watching the crappiest movie ever and the nnext thing i knew i was curled up, slumped, with a damnably high nimber of cramps, with my dog sitting on my arm drooling on me. i kept thinking "oh god put me into a come, please!"
