Well, you all knew I was going to draw Dark SOMETIME this month. I figured, why keep you waiting? ^_- Ugh, this took so LONG, though! Seven hours straight from start to completion. ...I can't afford to do this much work every day. >>;; The two boys were drawn seperately in open canvas, then assembled in adobe photobusiness deluxe. The background is half new, half recycled. And I worked HUGE, leik woah. I think the original size was 1600x2133. Yikes.

Red fairies are a Goddess-send in OoT.

As often as you portray these two beatin' the shizz out of one another (and apparently killing eachother), I can't help but wonder when they have time to get to the "fun" stuff.

I'm not usually one for dark fanart like this, but I love this. I love the colors, the details (damn, Link has some pretty nasty wounds there) and the expressions most of all.

And I just have to say it...
OMG! YOU KILLED LINK!!!1 (Heh, at least it's not as embarrassing a death as from, say, falling off cliffs 50+ times or getting mauled by a flock of chickens...which I'm guilty of doing. If Link's gonna die, at least let him get owned by Dark Link. XD)

Owwww....that looks extraordinarily painful and totally makes my guts all squirmy. I love your drawings of these two. I so have never played Zelda, but I'm in love with Link. It's very sad, but your gallery so feeds the addiction. XDDDD I love how bewildered Link looks, and how utterly smug Dark Link looks. XD The fact that he's wiping his blade off is my favourite part I think. XD You put such great details in your images! Augh!

thanks. ^^ I started out drawing from the official art of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and from screencaps of Gundam Wing. ....Neither of which i really recommend. XD I also drew like crazy from the tutorials on Elfwood.com (in the FARP section). But mainly, my style comes from trying to draw in a way that i like. The art i admire most is the art closer to real life. I like giving men lips and ni[pples. XD Huge oval-shaped anime eyes and circle-shapped breasts bug me. So i draw more what I see in life, and what i see other artists have done that's life-like. I'm inspired a lot by yaoi manga, too (not all of it, but some specific artists who have more "masculine" styles), and by art i've seen online that's flowy.

Until you're comfortable doing your own thing, draw imitating other artists - take a mouth from here, and eyes from there, and this kind of nose... See what works for you, and what you like. But never EVER stop drawing from life. Draw your hands, draw your wrists, draw yourself and everyone around you. And over the years, you'll develop a style so that when you draw from life, you won't be drawing what you see as much as drawing from yourself, from a library within you that you KNOW.

...I obviously haven't gotten there yet. XD My style still changes from picture to picture, based on how I'm feeling, what i've been reading or watching, and what I've been exposed to online. But my style's a lot stronger than it was five years ago, when i was copying official art.

Oh and, for the record - be careful what you copy. For years i've had people tell me that my original characters look like Link. X3

lol, I bet. i did draw alot of OOT drawing, my first anime was Link from a Nintendo power. It was pretty good. Ok, I see what you are saying and it makes a lot of sense. It just doesn't come easy to me though.. I am better at dragons and hell hounds then anime and the thing is I WANT to draw anime. With my pictures I find they do turn out the best when I put my emotions into them.. like I have one of Link crying.. well I was really sad when I drew it and that kinda thing. here he is.. I can already see some mistakes I made like his ear is in an odd postion... [link] but anyways. I will do that. I just really really want to draw anime as easily as I can draw my dragons.. I am sure if you checked out my dragons even you would be impressed. Thanks for your time, it means a lot to me.

Well, we all have our strengths. I can't draw dragons for the life of me. XD But then again, i don't draw them that often... but anime people I've been drawing every day for years now. Just keep drawing. The more people you draw, the better you'll get at them, as is true with anything. ...Like backgrounds. XD Get used to drawing them, too, because they're the bane of everyone's existence.

lol yeah. I can draw them in some pictures but others I see they don't need a background. Say another thing, where did you learn to color on Photoshop? I have photoshop but I can never get many things to work very well for me

I don't have photoshop. XD I have photodeluxe, which is the dumbed-down photo-editing version of photoshop, but I don't use it much. I use open canvas 1.1, mostly, which is an insanely easy program to learn, but gives pretty good results for it. And it's a free download. ^_- But basically, you just have to make use of layers, the airbrush tool for coloring, and dodging and burning for that final gloweyness. There are tons of photoshop tutorials out there if you look for them, even right here on DA. ^^

Okay, so after keeping this on my watch list for however many days now and looking at it almost every one of them, I'm gonna have to +fav it. I love everything about this. You draw such pretty fanart of this series. Actually, all your art is pretty, but Zelda games have been my favourites since forever so I have a special place in my heart for them.
