Description
IntroductionAn episode written by, G.M. Berrow, who before this was author of several MLP books including Twilight and the Crystal Heart Spell, the real life Daring Do Books collection and more. So how does she hold up for her first MLP episode. Well, that depends on whether or not the comedy relying on one or two jokes will do it for you.
Thoughts
So Pinkiepie knows a secret about Cadance and Shining Armor that she must keep from her friends. I'm sure alot of us knew what it was, myself included, Cadance and Shining Armor are about to have a foal. I am pretty looking forward to seeing the foal born, but considering that Cadance doesn't visibly show any signs of pregnancy meaning she's probably just conceived recently and that horses are usually pregnant for 11 months which is almost a year, and given that the pilot episode up to the season 4 premiere encompasses a year we probably won't be seeing this foal for quit sometime, unless the next couple of episodes have large time gaps in between them.
And then there's the comedy which is mostly was this episode is, and while I did enjoy it enough I can see why the overall comedy will be divided between good or meh. Most of the comedy is mostly visual humor centered around Pinkiepie trying to hold in that secret. I've heard some people say it probably would have been better if they told us the secret at the end rather than the beginning, but I don't thing it would have made much difference, alot of people predicted the secret from the synopsis, plus all the baby references are a pretty dead give away so I don't thing it would have mattered. Like I said it depends on how much you can tolerate the same kind of joke so I can sorta see why some people might be bored out of their wits, but for me the visual gags were enough to get a chuckle out of me every so often, things such as Pinkie bouncing around like a pinball, Pinkie making a balloon bottle for Scootaloo, acting like a blood hound to hunt down the next clue, I can't help but wonder if G.M. Berrow is intentionally trying to piss off Mrenter, or the waving tube pony that I'm sure will be reminding people of a certain commercial, oh and Pinkiepie falling to pieces at the end. Though I will say it's a little oddly conviently how on this one day everyone in Ponyville's conversation is related to the secret. The episode does also give us some some insight on what Shining Armor and Twilight's sibling relationship was like when they were younger, plus gains a bit more characterization particular with the room scene which by the way also funny especially the charred comic book part.
So all in all, I'd say it's a pretty good episode, the visual humor was enough to keep me entertained enough. We get to learn just a bit more about Shining Armor's character and his old relationship with Twilight. There's a new foal all the way that I do look forward to seeing, hopefully before the show eventually comes to an end. There really isn't a moral to learn from this episode, it's just a mindless fun episode. Of course how much fun it is depends on who you ask, if any at all, but these reviews are based on my own perception of the episode and while I wouldn't necessarily praise this episode to great heights I still enjoyed it enough to be able to call it a good episode. So G.M. Berrow may not have had the best start, but then again I didn't really have a high opinion of Josh Haber until season 5, Scott Sonneborne also seems more well received in this season so I guess there's hope for anything, we'll just have to wait and see where she goes from here.

Outro
And next episode we have Hearth's Warming Eve Number 2 with Applejack and the Pie family. A little weird having this occur before the next Nightmare Night episode. I'd not question it as much since this isn't Earth but Luna Eclipsed happened before Hearth's Warming Eve. I guess we can only assume that these episodes aren't in chronological order.

Yeah. When Pinkie Pie meets Shining Armor, you can see her blushing on her face after she is asked by him.

Yeah, I know there's a princess Skyla toy out there that may end up being that foal. I just hope we don't have to wait another 2 and a half seasons to see her.
