Not a stupid question at all... these are Aquabord clay panels, by Ampersand, specifically made for watercolour. The paint flows on nicely, somewhat differently to working on paper, but it's also very similar in other ways. It's difficult to describe what working on them is like, but they're interesting and very good for textured work.
