Description
Titanic Dispute
Megalon continued to dig into the Earth for as long as he was capable. The swarm of Legion soldiers also helped to excavate the site bit by bit, like little ants. But either way, the mountain they were tearing into was quickly giving way to Megalon’s digging. A task he began to find rather tedious. “What’s the point of all this digging, anyway? It’s not like there are any crystals hidden here. So what’s the deal?”
“The deal is that there is an ally hidden in this region of Japan, fool.” Astaroth said, overlooking the procedure. “One who can subdue our enemy, and ensure Godzilla cannot escape his journey to The Emperor.”
“Why does Lord Bagan want him so badly?” Megalon asked.
“That is of no concern of yours. You have a task to complete, now complete it!” Astaroth exclaimed.
“Yeah, okay.” Megalon said in a disgruntled tone as his drills continued digging into the Earth. The rubble collected behind him as he tunneled his way into the mountainside, until he finally came across something. It was the head of something massive. Something that can only be described as…...titanic. Its face resembled an insect of some kind, yet at the same time it wasn’t. This was something far more ancient, and powerful. Megalon peered in close to get a look at the creature when its eyes flashed awake, and a roar like thunder sounded from its maw, knocking him over. He, and Astaroth then watched as the beast began to tear its way out of the mountainside like it was cardboard. Some legion soldiers were crushed under the rubble made by the beast as it finally tore its way out of the mountain. Its great, hulking frame roaring in freedom to the heavens as its four arms flailed for a moment to wear out the slumber over its body. When it was finished, the creature with massive four arms covered in body markings looked to where Astaroth was.
“Jinshin-Mushi.” Astaroth dubbed the creature with a smirk. “Welcome back to the realm of the living. The Dark Master has need of your strength, and power.”
The titan, Jinshin, recognized Astaroth for who he was, and bowed its head in respect to the right hand of Lord Bagan. “What does the master ask of me?”
“Yours is a simple, yet invigorating task: seek out, and capture the one called Godzilla - alive.”
Jinshin nodded in understanding, and turned around to commence digging into the Earth to begin its chase. Astaroth merely stood with his arms crossed as the titan left. Megalon, however, was curious about this situation. “Do you really think this creature will succeed in its mission?”
“It matters little.” Astaroth said. “Whether the Jinshin fails, or not, Godzilla WILL be brought before my master. And with him, the key to the Anti-life will be ours at last.
Unknown to Astaroth, the thunderous roar of Jinshin-Mushi had been heard by an ancient being almost as old as the creature brought forth into the world. He recognized the roar for who it belonged to. And he knew that it was now time to finally put that monster six feet under for good. He only hoped his surrogate would be safe from the threat he knew he was about to face.
Either way, Atreus would make haste to see the Jinshin pay for its crimes.
In Alaska, Godzilla was already engaged against a new Antilock dubbed “Knifehead” after routing the Trilopod horde there. It helped that he was accompanied by the newly arrived Jaeger, Gypsy Avenger. The first of the many mecha fighters deployed around the world to fight off the alien invasion. When news of an Antilock was reached the GDF, they were quick to deploy Gypsy Avenger to fight. Thankfully, this would turn into a team-up brawl against a stronger than average Antilock.
“Stay alert, and don’t take this thing lightly.” Godzilla told the mech.
“Whatever you say, boss-lizard.” Gypsy quipped, earning an eye-roll from the young king.
Knifehead lunged at the two, swiping its claws at the two of them. But they had proven fast enough to evade the attack. Gypsy followed through with a punch straight to the jaw, followed by a kick to the side. Godzilla followed this with a tail slap to the leg, and a claw swipe to the face. Knifehead managed to slash Godzilla’s chest, then push him backwards. Gipsy then grabbed the outstretched arm, and with impressive strength, threw Knifehead over his shoulder. He then produced wrist-mounted blades on both arms. He tried to stab the antilock through the chest while it was on the ground, but it saw the attack and swiftly rolled to the side.
The beast then lunged with the bladed horn on its head, and slashed Gypsies shoulder. The mecha grunted in pain from the blow, but even so he continued the fight. Slashing Knifehead across the chest back, and forth until Knifehead grabbed the right-arm blade and broke it. He then began slapping Gypsy around, while scratching him with his claws. Pretty soon, Knifehead was slamming both fists downwards onto Gypsy Avenger, causing the robot to stagger before receiving a slash across the face. He then grabbed the mech by the upper arms, and prepared to drive his blade through Gypsies chest.
But as soon as the antilock reared its head back, Gypsy saw Godzilla biting into the back of its neck. Godzilla then pulled the antilock away from Gypsy, and grabbed hold of his jaws. Knifehead put up a fierce struggle, but it was all for naught. The demonic creature was no match for Godzilla’s raw strength, and was at his mercy. As it struggled, Godzilla’s dorsal plates began shining with neon light. And after finally prying the antilock’s mouth wide open, Godzilla fired an atomic ray down its throat. Knifehead screeched, and howled as its vocals melted away, along with all of the flesh, and bone in its neck. In less than a minute, the neck was bubbling into a hot mess, and Knifeheads struggles ceased as his body fell from his head. Taking a few moments to catch his breath, Godzilla roared in victory. The antilock’s head still in hand before it was simply dropped into the water. Godzilla then turned his attention to Gypsy Avenger, and asked, “You okay?”
“Yeah...nothing a trip to base can’t fix up.” Gypsy said, followed by his shoulder sparking. “I just wish I didn’t let that thing get the better of me like that.”
“Hey, it’s okay.” Godzilla reassured him. “Happens to the best of us sometimes. The point is that you fought well, and saved the city in doing so. That counts as a victory in my eyes.”
“Thanks, Goji.” Gypsy said, before taking his leave back to base. “Well, it’s back to the GDF for me now. Take care while i’m gone.”
“I’m sure i’ll manage somehow.” Godzilla joked as he watched Gypsy begin his trek back to base. But just as soon as Gypsy left, the comm disk on his chest started beeping. Meaning that Tanaki wanted to speak with him. Pressing on the pad, Godzilla said, “Godzilla here. Is something the matter?”
“[Hopefully not, but it seems that way. How fast can you make it to Guam?]”
“At my top speed….less than three hours.”
“[Then please try and make it as soon as possible. We think there’s been an attack there, but we can’t be sure. Maybe you can fill in the blanks.]”
“Sure thing. I’ll see what’s up.” Godzilla said, before diving into the waters, and making his way to Guam. He was hopeful that it would be something simple, like the Cryog attacking, or another antilock on the loose. Either would be good enough for him.
Little did he know of the danger awaiting him there.
Godzilla arrived in Guam, seeing the devastation left by the Jinshin-Mushi...but no sign of the Titan in question. He surveyed the area, hoping to find some trace of the abomination somewhere, but there was nothing. Growing weary, he pressed into his comm disk, and asked, “Tanaki, are you sure the kaiju’s here somewhere?”
[That’s what the sensors say….but it could be a glitch in the system. Hold tight, and we’ll go over the data one more time], Tanaki said over the comm. Unaware to Godzilla, a large mass began to rise from the mountains, and slowly creep towards him from behind. The scanners picked this up, and Tanaki frantically said, [Godzilla, look out! It’s behind you!]. Godzilla’s eyes widened as he spun around to see a massive fist swinging to him. He ducked as quickly as he could before blasting the creature into the mountainside. Yet it seemed unfazed by the blow, and began to slowly advance toward Godzilla, who was now growing worried from what he was facing. Even so, he would not give up. And he fired another atomic ray, this time aimed for the titan’s face. The beast merely laughed as the smoke cleared to reveal it was unscathed, and said, “My turn.”
The markings on its body began to glow bright orange, and its mouth opened wide as it prepared to attack. “Thunder Destroyer!” And a massive roar tore through the landscape until it hit Godzilla with more force than he had ever felt before in his entire life. His heart felt like it would implode, and he was knocked onto his back from the sheer force of the attack. Needless to say, Jinshin had seemingly accomplished its mission as Godzilla curled into a fetal position. Trying desperately to get his heart to stop beating so fast. He was helpless, and ready for the titan to attack.
But before it could reach him, something odd happened: the water levels began to rise from the sea, and engulf the city as something big emerged from the water. It resembled Godzilla in many respects. But it was much bigger, and seemed more….prehistoric in some way. Like this was an ancestor of Godzilla come from beyond. As the GDF were left to wonder who this was, the titan stepped over to Godzilla, and loomed over him defensively. Godzilla felt a calming presence fall over him as his heart finally settled down. When it did, he finally got a look at the titan who seemingly came to his rescue. And to his surprise, he knew this titan all too well. “Father?”
Atreus hummed as he said, “It’s good to see you, my son.”
“At a time like this, the feeling’s mutual.” Godzilla smirked.
Atreus growled in rage at the Jinshin-Mushi, and the latter did the same. These two had an old score to settle, and now was the time to see it done. Atreus charged forth, roaring into the heavens as a loud, humming sound reverberated from his dorsal plates. When the sound reached its climax, Atreus fired his own Atomic Ray at Jinshin. The titan just stood there, expecting to withstand the attack. But it was proven wrong when the ray shot under his right arm, and vaporized his smaller arm, while putting a hole into his side. The sheer force caused Jinshin to topple like a tower, and gave Atreus opportunity to charge the beast. Like a freight train, he crashed into the brute, and pushed it back several meters. It tried to punch Atreus, but he grabbed hold of the fist, and began pushing into the parasite while the latter did the same.
Godzilla watched with bated breath as he whispered, “Don’t...quit.”
The struggle between Atreus and Jinshin-Mushi was a test of pure strength. One the two titans were equally matched in, at first. But then, Jinshin managed to find some leeway, and with a headbutt, it began pushing Atreus back. Its arm managed to push through Atreus, and grab him in a vicious grip. It then punched Atreus to the ground with its other fist, and tried to drive its claw through the ancient titan. But Atreus was faster, and grabbed the parasite’s hand before breaking off a finger. While Jinshin roared in pain, Atreus then grabbed it by the jaw, and began to crush it in his hand. In an act of desperation, jinshin punched Atreus away with its other fist. Its body then charged up as Atrues tried to get back up, and fired another “Thunder Destroyer” attack. The attack sent him flying back towards Godzilla, where he lay prone and unconscious from the blow that is the bane of all Gojirans.
“No! Dad!” Godzilla said frantically, as he gently pushed his prone father’s body to try and wake him. But nothing worked. And to make matters worse, Jinshin was approaching with the markings on its body glowing once again. It was ready to finish this fight once, and for all. “Dad! Wake up! He’s coming!” Still, Atreus did not budge from his spot. Godzilla began to fear the worse, and dreaded what would happen next. But as he looked upon his father’s dorsal plates, he suddenly received an idea. Charging up his atomic ray to the max, he fired it directly into his father’s dorsal plates. The Jinshin was surprised by this, and halted its attack. The remaining humans were just as surprised. Miku had faith in what he was doing, and urged him on. After a full minute of firing his ray, Godzilla had exhausted him.
And as Atreus’ dorsal plates glowed with bright neon energy, his eyes snapped open.
To Jinshen’s horror, Atreus swiftly rose from the ground, and made a roar so loud, it could be heard for miles, and miles. A familiar humming sound reverberating as he did so. Godzilla smirked as he said, “Go for it!”. Atreus let loose the most powerful atomic ray in his arsenal directly into Jinshen-Mushi. Jinshen roared in anguish as the ray tore into its body. But even so, Atreus continued firing his attack into the parasite. And after a while, even Jinshin-Mushi could not withstand this kind of power, and was completely swallowed in the light, and reduced to atoms. Atreus fired for a few more moments until he finally snapped his jaws shut.
The battle was finally over.
Atreus made a powerful victory roar that seemed to span for miles. The very earth shook from the sound of his voice reverberating. Soon enough, it ended, and all was at peace. When it was, Atreus turned his attention to Godzilla, and approached him like a weary hunter. Many thought he was going to attack Godzilla, who was in no shape to fight.
Imagine their surprise when the two nuzzled in embrace, and purred with happiness.
“It’s been a long time, dad.” Godzilla said. “I really missed you.”
“I missed you, too, my son.” Atreus answered. “I am happy to see that you have grown into a fine, strong titan.”
This seemed to dampen Godzilla’s mood as he said, “Except I wasn’t strong enough to take out that monster.” Atreus sympathetically placed a hand on his son’s shoulder, and said, “There is nothing to be ashamed about. The Jinshin-Mushi was a powerful variant of its race, and the most dangerous. They are born to hunt our kind, and have the strength to do so. Without you, I would not have had the strength to finish your grandfather’s killer. So I thank you for lending me your power, Seiki. It won the day for us.”
Godzilla felt his pride grow with the words of encouragement, and reassurance given to him by his adoptive father. And with a smile, he gave the elder titan another nuzzle. “Thank you, father. I’m only grateful you came when you did, or I would’ve been dead.” Atreus’ expression then turned serious for a moment as he said, “As happy as I am to see you, it was a happy accident that we crossed paths. I sensed the chaos that was tearing this world apart, but like the many other times, I had faith that you could stop it. But when I sensed Jinshin-Mushi had returned, I knew I could not remain idle. Action was called for.” He then bowed his head. “Now, I offer my service to aid in this newfound war….and perhaps help you to control your potential should the need to utilize it come.”
Godzilla nodded, and said, “I think i’d like that. Now let’s go home to Monster Island. We’ve got alot of catching up to do.”
In the temple of Lord Bagan, Astaroth emerged from a warp gate, and bowed before his master. “My lord. The Jinshin-Mushi has failed in its task. And what’s more, the titan Atreus has returned, and is in league with Godzilla.”
“It is of no consequence.” Bagan said. “I have been hoping to draw out the son of Dagon for quite some time. This incident has provided me with the results I desire, and now I can take further vengeance upon my deceased enemies spawn.”
“What of the other titans, my liege?” Astaroth questioned. “They may pose a danger to our cause should they be awakened.”
“Fear not, my apprentice. Should they awaken, they will be crushed. Their numbers are lesser now than when The Great War began. Whether united, or not, their fate will be the same.” Bagan then showed a projection of Los Angeles, as something massive began to fly down from the heavens. It was a hideous, green-pulsing nest, with tendrils that stretched for many miles. The object rivalled the tallest skyscrapers in size, and its mass was immense. When it made landfall, it brought down some of the smaller buildings around it. And out of an opening came more Trilopods ready for battle as they began to attack the city. “Besides, we have more forces to replenish our ranks without limit. And our ultimate goal remains within our reach.”
“Ah, yes, the Celestial Seven.” Astaroth said.
“Six have been gathered...and now only one remains.”
“Indeed.” Astaroth stated. “And when it appears, all of our desires shall become reality, and existence itself will be ours.”
“Yes.” Bagan said, secretly wishing his apprentice knew what was going to happen soon.
He may not even live to see the birth of the new universe.
