Description
There were those who knew the world would not be the same. The moment humanity split the atom, it knew everything would be changed forever. When Hiroshima, and Nagasaki became the first casualties of nuclear energy, and mans unrestrained quest for power, everything was different. Few people cried. Many more remained silent, in the face of such awesome......and terrifying power. Understanding that with this, now we have become Death. The Destroyer of Worlds.
But when Castle Bravo was unleashed in the Bikini Atoll, noone ever could have imagined the consequences of using such destructive power. Nor would they ever dare imagine it could ever be used against them as it had been, in 1954. The day they had provoked nature's wrath, and awakened something.
A titan who would forever be known as King of the Monsters.
Gojira.
Believed to be an ancient, sea-dwelling god who had lived for centuries beneath the waves by the natives who worshiped it, on Odo Island humanity began to discern the myth from reality. And the reality is that their unholy weapons of atomic warfare had given new life to this beastly force. Dr. Kyohei Yamane, a biologist by trade, deduced that Gojira's true identity lay in the distant past of earth's history as a member of the first rulers of earth. One of the few living dinosaurs who hid in what has been referenced as "The Hollow Earth", where underground tunnel systems, and caverns more massive than anything humanity has ever seen, capable of housing these ancient, and innumerable creatures......before nuclear testing theoretically struck one of these cavernous regions, and irradiated one of the inhabitants within. And somehow, such exposure to nuclear energy heavily mutated, and augmented the creature into the godly monster of today. Perhaps a gene carried in the species DNA housed a mutagenic quality that, once exposed to the right energy source, would trigger an evolutionary metamorphosis to create these giant monsters - these "kaiju", as Dr. Mafune thoroughly stated. The man himself was engrossed in the scientific potential Gojira's existence possessed. So many unknown facts laying within the creatures very body that may end up being of benefit to humanity. That is why he was so desperate to convince the defense cabinet to keep the kaiju alive. If they were to capture him, hold him in some manner of containment, and the research, and study his biology, then the scientific breakthroughs made could honestly allow mankind to further expand its knowledge in the medical, as well as scientific field.
Sadly for him, the threat Gojira presented following his brief raid on Odo Island outweighed scientific curiosity, and it was decided that the beast must die. Soon, it was discovered that Gojira had made his way to Tokyo Bay, and was merely resting out in the ocean. The Japanese Self-Defense Force felt it was an opportunity they couldn't waste, and immediately sent down depth charges to kill Gojira as he slept. They soon came to regret their folly when the godly monster emerged out of the bay, and crushed the shoreline of Tokyo, as well as the railway system before returning to the sea. Though given temporary reprieve, Japan now realized it had provoked Gojira into attacking them, and now made themselves into an enemy he needed to eliminate in order to defend itself. Though Dr. Mafune again pleaded for the case of capturing Gojira, and sparing his life, the JSDF refused to take any more chances. The next night, dozens of high voltage, electrical towers had been placed around Tokyo to fence Gojira out in the event he did come back. The military forces were also brought in to dispatch Gojira, hoping their artillery and weapons might be enough to kill him.
As predicted, Gojira once again rose out of Tokyo Bay that night, on a direct path for the city.
His footfalls echoing, and thundering as he came ashore. The numerous spotlights illuminating his mighty, and imposing figure as a fog seemed to roll in. His form shrouded in a thin veil of mist, as his phantom white eyes peered across the electrical fence. And the tanks, and canons aimed, and ready to open fire. The people of Japan watching with baited, terrified breaths as this hellish demon slowly approached. It felt as if it were ages before Gojira finally drew in closer, and closer.
And then, finally, the moment came, and all hell broke loose. As Gojira walked through the wires of the electrical towers, one of the engineers on the controls for them activated them with the flip of a switch. Gojira roared in pain, and shock as electricity fired into his body. The JSDF immediately opened all fire on the massive behemoth, and unleashed their full, militaristic might upon the creature. At first, as Gojira's roar extended, it appeared as though they may have had a chance. But upon further inspection, everyone began realizing that the electrical surge only hurt for a moment. And the artillery fire, and the bombs launched at him either failed to so much as scorch his hard, rough and scaly skin, or they harmlessly bounced off of his hide/exploded on impact without even scratching him. Gojira's anger rose in the midst of this chaotic upheaval, and he began unleashing it upon the electric tower. Two of them were torn apart, bending like mere copper in his bare hands, as the surges merely washed over him. The gun and missile fire around him were briefly ignored because of how insignificant they were.
These towers were what actually hurt him, if only for a little while.
How dare these metal constructs harm him?
How dare these little parasites who he now understood built them use them to hurt him?
He had been too lenient with them the last time he came ashore. He had hoped his brief display at the bay would be enough to show these humans how outmatched they were - but they clearly never learn. They never learn anything, and he paid for it with his own pain.
Now, they will all BURN!
In the smoke, and mist appeared an illumination that didn't belong to the search lights. To the horror, and shock of the JSDF, it was coming from Gojira. More specifically, his spines, glowing a vibrant, ghostly white as his eyes also began to glow with eerie light. Then, like ancient dragons of myth, a mist-like fire erupted out of his maw, and struck a few electrical towers. A few moments, and the strange fire super-heated the metal, before both of them melted in half. Scientists would eventually refer to this as "The Atomic Breath/Ray", once it was revealed that his "fire" was concentrated radioactive energy in a long-ranged, oral weapon.
And in the span of a few hours, all of Tokyo felt its searing heat as he burned all of it down. Buildings crumbled beneath his feet, and at the furious swipes of his claws. The tiny vehicles under his feet crushed like tin. The streets flooding with panicking civilians as the god-like leviathan released torrent after torrent of his atomic ray onto the streets. Those who were not crushed underfoot died in an instant when their bodies burned in the stream of atomic power greater than even Castle Bravo. The few who did survive were left screaming, and crying in agony, and sorrow. Praying to whatever god existed for their salvation. And some, like a lone mother and her two children, kneeling down near the streets where Gojira stood, accepted their fate, and awaited death. "We'll be with your papa soon." The last words that would be uttered as a wall of fire continuously swallowed the city. The terrifying visage of the destroyer roaring into the heavens as he wreaked righteous vengeance upon all of mankind. Even as he left the city, tearing down a bridge above the bay as he descended into the depths, his unholy mark had been left. In the ruins of Tokyo, where hundreds of thousands lay in the streets, and in hospitals dead, or dying - either from their wounds, or from the exposure to the radiation he left in his wake - those who remained would forever, and always remember this horrifying night. The night a living god, embodying the sins of man, and their careless use of nuclear power for the creation of weapons, would be etched in the annals of history. A legacy of fear, and power that would never end. Even as a human scientist reluctantly brought forth a device - a weapon, with powers to rival, and perhaps surpass Gojira's. Even as the man gave his life to keep the weapon's secrets, as it unleashed its awesome, but devastating power to destroy all oxygen in its reach. As Gojira vainly rose out of the sea, roaring in agony as his flesh was stripped from bone, and dissolved into nothing in the frothing waters, humanity would remember. Remember how their actions lead to the creation of this terrifying beast who was the result of their arrogance, and disregard. That on that day, there could be no true victory in the face of the death, and destruction seen. As Dr. Yamane, his daughter and her love, and the select few out in the bay solemnly observed, a single thought came to their minds, and would haunt for all time.
While Gojira may have been made the first of his kind.........he may very well NOT be the last.

Abilities/Aspects:
-Superheated atomic breath capable of devastating whole city blocks
-Remarkably fast regenerative healing factor due to once-dormant "Organizer G1" within cells
-Able to control/manipulate radioactive energies in body, creating new and deadly attacks
-Incredibly strong, even for his size
-Able to swim at 40 knots
-Extreme aggression; when attacked, advances rather than retreats

As promised, here's the "prologue" to the new rendition of "Godzilla: Return of a Dynasty". And there isn't any better place to start than with the one that started it all. Gojira's pic, however, was edited by me to give him an eerie, and foreboding effect. A nod to GMK aka Ghost Godzilla, if you will. Hence why his spines, and his eyes glow grey. And yet, it is the original Gojira movie story that legitimately starts this series, because it's impactful. The beginning of an incredible legacy spanning over half a century, and will do so beyond.
The next part, however, will be a time jump to the true starting point of this story, as you'll soon see.

This is a great retelling of the original film! Though the original is only my second favourite Godzilla movie it’s leagues better than any other Godzilla film and is probably one of if not the best movie I’ve ever seen, I just prefer KotM because I love a good old monster battle. As for this, I love the part where you switch to Godzilla’s perspective. It embodies the sheer rage that the original Godzilla is clearly powered by in the original movie.

Indeed. One of the things I acknowledge about Gojira is that the aforementioned kaiju is an ultimate force of retribution. A creature who may very well be in pain from his own mutation, and is trying to make sense of its new existence - what he did on Odo Island amounting to him simply passing over an anthill, and stepping on a few without realizing. Then Japan tries killing him in the bay, when in all honesty, he's only minding his own business, he naturally retaliates. I think his first attack was like a warning to leave him alone. The second time might have been simple curiosity drawing him ashore - when he was assaulted by the JSDF, and was electrocuted by the towers, he might have put two and two together, and decided "no second chances". After that, it was nuclear Armageddon for Tokyo. At least here, we can actually get an idea on what drove him to attack, so unrelentingly before he was killed.

Ooh, that’s a cool idea! Also, were you able to find RoaD’s version of Rozan? I literally just remembered that that was the only thing in the series that I actually read

Don't worry: Rozan still exists, and is resting in my computer's picture gallery. Safe, and tucked away with the rest of the roster, including the incompletes.

If you mean Mike, then yes, he is. He goes by DrGWRzilla now. But he also made a journal explaining what's what. Let's just say I wasn't lying when I said i inherited this series from him.

I appreciate that. And next up, we basically go to the climax of the Heisei Era, and its last movie. Because to be honest, that's where this story REALLY begins.

AND.....a final, awesome, and necessary description of the other plotpoint of the 1954 movie, which is the basis of Godzilla vs Destoroyah.

What icon of Godzilla 2019? I don't see anything like that.
