Description So uh

Netflix got TRON: Uprising the other day. (go watch it if you have netflix by the way, get the stats up)

And I'd been meaning to watch that show for a while because obviously Tron: Legacy was cool and the gifs I saw (on tumblr) of Uprising had me intrigued.

So I notice Netflix got it and I jump right on dat and watch it all in one day (Tron marathon wooo)

and hnnnng. I LOVE THIS SHOW. The animation just blows me the fuck away and it has a pretty fantastic story, especially compared to most TV shows these days.

I REALLY ENJOYED IT. I love the character style too - the exaggerated features are fun.

And I uh. I may or may not be completely infatuated with Tron himself.

The last episode (Terminal) basically had me flipping out over many things I was afraid would happen AND THEY DIDN'T WELP

SOOO ANYWAY

I wanted to draw some Tron but I was afraid I wouldn't be able to capture the style of the show.

Turns out I'm not so bad at it? idk. Tron was fun to draw c: The sharp shadows are fun to do as well. I enjoy it.

I got better as I went along. The top left was my first try, newer sketches on the right and the bottom one was the last one I did before getting tired LOL.

There will be more Tron probably eehehehe

PS: yes, you legitly can't see his eyes 80% of the time

I love the stories so much too!! And Tron.....GLOMP!!! I think Tron Uprising satisfied my intrigue about Tron from Legacy. I felt like that movie wasn't about him enough and I only wanted to know his stories rather than the Flynns' or Quorra even. I loved Identity, Scars arc, No Bounds, and Terminal for that reason. That guy is just so dang interesting!!! Lol, I know, he always looks like he's squinting. Kinda like Clint Eastwood or something.

I think you capture the style really well!! I've been doing some drawings and haven't been able to draw him like this. What's more, is that I think you've got the lighting/shading of him down pat too!! Keep up the great work!!

Ahhh YES. TROONNN Those were exactly my feelings on Legacy as well! I had ALWAYS wondered about Tron's story. Even just watching Legacy, he was my favorite character <3 We barely see any of him in the movie, and you're left guessing a lot. Even Rinzler doesn't show up all that much, and when he does theres no story to him :c My favorite scene in Legacy was Tron fighting for Flynn to escape. Uprising answered ALL my prayers, so much TROOONNN and he deserved the backstory. Terminal and Scars pt.1+2 are my favorite episodes.

LOL YES HE'S ALWAYS SQUINTING. In ALL the screenshot refs I had of him (which were a lot) I could only see his eyes in one XDDDD!!

I enjoy the funny shading C: the sharp shadows are a lot of fun to play with.

Same here!! I kinda cried the first time I saw that because it was almost like Flynn didn't even care if Tron had actually died or not. He just ran off to nowhere and did nothing. And now that we know what's going on during Tron Uprising, it makes it even more sad because Flynn still is doing nothing. ;_; Great work!!

The way I see it, Flynn just did what Tron told him and ran. He knew he didn't stand a chance against Clu and his forces, and Tron was making sure he'd escape... so if he went back he'd ruin what Tron was fighting for. Tron's sacrifice would be for nothing.

Must have sucked to leave his friend behind though.

I doubt Flynn knew Tron was still alive during the events that Uprising added. He would have assumed Clu de-rezzed him. "I never saw him again..."

Speaking of Friends, I've noticed Tron hasn't really had any that didn't stab him in the back. :c And that's why he's so grumpy, the way I see it When I first started watching uprising I was like WOW he's bitter (I expected the hero of the grid to be a little more... charismatic) But if you think about it... Clu and Flynn were his closest friends/ allies, and of course Dyson. Then BAM Clu tries to kill him, Dyson tries to kill him, Cyrus saves him then betrays him like everyone else ;A; Trusting Beck must have been hard. S'why I love their mentor/friend relationship.

Yeah, that's totally true. I guess knowing what happened afterwards, I almost wish that Flynn had stayed to prevent all that from happening to Tron (torture, etc.). ;( But I wonder if Tron felt kinda peeved about the notion that Flynn got away but never came back with like help or anything. I really love paradoxes like that though. We the viewers know that Flynn is definitely alive and well but all through Legacy Tron/Rinzler probably was under the impression that he was dead or not coming back.

Agreed. Even Yori kinda did when she kissed Flynn in the first movie. I was like, "WHAT?! Nooooo!" ;_; That's why I really love his interactions with Beck. Because it gives him some much needed hope that the programs he's defending actually deserve all the effort and sacrifices he puts towards their well-being. That's ok, I ramble a lot too, but it's great to discuss this stuff!

Yea, I bet Tron himself is pretty conflicted about Flynn XD He got away, thanks to Tron, but man that sucks.

I honestly hope IF Uprising gets a second season that nothing too awful happens to Beck in the end (obv he's not in Legacy) because that would destroy poor Tron ;A;

Honestly I like to think Beck lived - In Legacy there were programs in the end of line club that were all like RESISTTTT and killed all the black guards at the end of that fight. I like to think they were members of Beck's resistance. Maybe even there looking for Zuse on his orders? I can dream

Yes, I agree. Oh yeah! I remember that part! I think that the 'leader' of these few programs at the club was Bartik. The one guy we see in Tesler's 'brigade'. I would like to think Tron somehow warned Beck to gather up some programs and get them as far away from Clu as possible. This is after he kinda finds out that Clu and his forces are too powerful. I'd like to think that maybe Tron sacrificed himself so this giant group of programs plus Beck could escape into the Outlands or something. I'm starting a story about this sort of theory. ;D I really hope they focus on the Programs more for this next movie. There are so many questions to be answered about them.

Sorry about the super late reply. I've been super busy with my summer job. When I'd much rather be on here having an amazing conversation about Tron. ;D

I dunno in my headcanon something happens to Beck and maybe Tron at least /thinks/ he's derezzed and Tron pretty much gets caught by Clu without a fight. I dunno what Tron would do without Beck honestly, he's lost too many friends.

I know. I was really hoping Tron Uprising would show us what happened and how Tron was corrupted into Rinzler. I have a feeling it has something to do with Beck or protecting programs. They seriously need to continue that show or I will lose my mind. ;_;

The grumpier Tron is, the more I love him! Tron: Uprising is truly a fantastic show and it's always great to see it get some love.
You did a fantastic job capturing the art style of the original series. Even if it's a simple sketch, I love the way you drew his expressions. Keep up the great work!

It really is a good show. I'm hoping there ends up being more, one way or another. I want to see its story finally link with Legacy.

I had fun trying the art style! those sharp shadows are fun to play with. And hehe, what expressions? Tron always has that grumpy frown goin' on 8D

Except when he's reaaaly angry. Angry Tron in Scars pt.2 was really frightening lD U better run Dyson. RUNNN
