Description Thoughts: Here are some concepts relating to Link, from TRON: Uprising.

Link is a relatively minor character, and had never actually deployed his helmet in the series. Link possesses an atypical set of traits, and I thought to incorporate that into his helmet design by using asymmetrical light lines - something not seen (to my knowledge) in general designs seen among other Programs.

Details: A set of general concepts.

Materials: Sketchbook paper, mechanical pencil, and 4B/8B graphite stick, .1 ink pen, and correction fluid.

These are super nice and insightful. I'm still working on my own set of Link-helmets but they will be nowhere near as awesome as these ones! You are the master at drawing Link!

Thank you, as always.

I'd say only: "I've gotten used to drawing Link." Even then, he still poses his challenges, needless to say of how the slant of his hair or exact angle of his face seems difficult to keep correct.

Still, of the helmet ideas, I've been meaning to work on at least one more set, to see either whether my intuitive sense of design has drifted toward something more novel, or whether the designs will have been somehow/subconsciously finalized - thus said to have a certain agreeable nature, even though I don't possess a clear idea of what seems right yet.

In that manner of Link being as he is, I am sure that the answer will be both unexpected and yet minor, hidden in plain sight... Such as I am sure that he tends to shuffle into a room and go about his work unnoticed.

Thank you for the compliments. I am glad that I can contribute, or just reflect usefully in understanding and design.

No problem! Thank you for such great art! I am going to credit you for a majority of Link-related concepts coming up in the 'novel'. Haha, Link's hair is kinda weird to draw. I guess I'm so used to drawing Tron's and, sometimes, Cody's hair off to one side it kinda seems natural to me. ...if one could consider Link natural.

Nice! I'm still getting through my conceptuals of his helmet but it should be done sooner or later. Perhaps they might help? I think you'll like the plot I have in mind for Link. ;D I kind of arrived at it through our discussions and it should start to come up into the plot around the next or 5 page.

As mentioned, I'm honored, and I wish you the best of luck in your effort. You certainly have my admiration not only in that you draw from many artists to arrive at your investment of skill and creativity, but also just in that you see to such a comic/graphic novel in and of itself.

You know rather well that my own list of ideas has long since outpaced me, and I've hardly stepped (or stumbled, Link-wise, gracelessly) past the concept/general art style line. (Huh. 'Link-wise' .... Is that like 'likewise' except with implied roundabout-generally-not-direct creativity and presumed lack of effectiveness, until the last minute? )

Ah, yes, Link. It's not so much his hair off to one side, it's that his cranium seems to have both an odd hair angle, and also an odd flare to it - angled heavily from a side profile, and yet rounded and seemingly normal from the front. I suppose the one view where he is overlooking Argon with the Renegade shows that distinctness most clearly, I find. (Link, for all of the dumbness he is jokingly assigned and treated with, has an oddly perplexing - and thus strangely fascinating - cranium. *shakes her head* There's certainly a sort of humor there, a kind of ironic duality.)

... It's been more than once that I've wanted to make a sort of 4-th wall comic with my slightly exasperated self facing Link, telling him that he is a good Program, and that he's led to many an interesting consideration... But that I just don't understand his face. Alas, poor Link can only stand there, perplexed as to whether he wants to take that as a compliment or not. Or, maybe just having someone actually wanting to be in his personal space would be a little startling. (Heck, just focusing on Link as an art/inspiration subject is something I treat with a sort of meta-humor as to the effort at all. )

Aw, thank you so much! I only use artists' ideas/concepts when they arrive at far better/more interesting concepts than I'd ever be able to create. A great example is you're helmets for Link. Whilst I wallow in Rinzler-esque shapes and designs you arrived at a more logical, more Link-ish helmet. For me to attempt to ignore that concept completely would be futile because it has lodged itself in my head. I will have to look up those pictures again. I do see what you're saying though. He does seem to have an interesting, if not abnormal, shape to his head. When faced head-on I tend to draw Link as a slighter, less-angular version of Tron's face. Peaking the brows a bit higher in that perpetual sympathetic-looking expression. Kinda like Zed, I take the edge and jut of his chin down and smooth the jaw a bit more; kinda placing it at a lower point on his neck. But then again, my drawings of him are no where near as close as yours are.

I feel like that would be an excellent commentary on perhaps the most prevalent topic for Link. We see him constantly being pushed to the side and can only watch helplessly as the other Programs seem to overlook his very real qualities. Link does deserve someone telling him he is worth it. He is a very interesting character to play around with in comic form though. Heck, introverts are always interesting to play around with in comics! (as that's basically the only people I ever deal with in comics ) I look forward to seeing all your great commentary in your comics.
