The first monster that caused Japan to create its various forces to combat giant monsters was the (self described) king. Once a simple dinosaur who lived on the island of Lagos peacfully, until WWII. After the H-bomb, the beast lashed out in rage after his home was destroyed. It was thought killed by the brilliant Dr. Daisuke Serizawa who ended his own life to stop the creature and make sure no other found the secret to his greatest and most destructive weapon, the Oxygen Destroyer. Though the beast was vanquished his kind and rain would live on through others.
