This is a long awaited piece of artwork done for me by , a portrait of the Rodan couple from the original 1956 movie! While the Muto couple made a big splash with fans back in 2014, Mr. and Mrs. Rodan worked the kaiju couple angle first, and I still consider their suits to be the best design for them produced by Toho, with Final Wars Rodan in close second. With the Monsterverse Rodan poised to make a big comeback in Godzilla King of the Monsters this May, here's to hoping the new Rodan will live up to the legacy left by his namesakes and inspire more love and respect from both Toho and the fandom in the years to come, his design certainly rocks

It was surprising and touching how one of the Rodan didn't want to live without the other. I suspect it was the female that was wounded, and the male that searched so much to find her, but that's just speculation
